[Hoch] “The job is not done yet. We have more to do,” said Brian Cashman, who apologized for checking his phone during a 20-minute Zoom call because he said dialogue on other moves is continuing.

  1. It has been nice seeing Cash go out and make our starting rotation and bullpen one of, if not the, strongest in the league. Let’s get a solid bat or two that can hit ahead of Judge and someone to leadoff and we are in a really good spot for the next few years.

  2. Belli + Hoerner for Stroman, Warren, and whoever

    Then get Nate Lowe somehow

    Then sign Buehler

    Then address bullpen

    Not necessarily in that order

  3. Remember when Hal said “we are not done”? Yeah, he lied, they were done. Not taking anything this guy says seriously.

  4. I’m surprised there hasn’t been any rumblings about a deal with some of STL’s younger, cost controlled guys. I think we’ve had interest in Nootbaar in the past.

For the record, I’m not saying that a move like that would move the needle, but it does seem like exactly the type of player we’d get and try to sell his upside.

  5. Hope:

    – Bellinger

    – Hoerner

    – one of Walker/ Alonso/ or Bregman. Idk just something to convince me this lineup has any top of the lineup pop to replace Soto

    Reality:

    – Bellinger

    – a spring training invite for Matt Carpenter and Brett Gardner

  6. Last season, amazing offensive, shitty defence, bad rotation, this season, amazing rotation, good bullpen, inexistence offensive, please Cashman this franchise needs to be serious for one time, 15 years in a row being an unbalanced disaster, and that is your fault.

  7. I have so much PTSD of off-seasons past that I deep down think They’re gonna make one more $20-$25M move whether that’s Bellinger or Alonso or Bregman or Walker, and then we’re gonna nibble with extremely minor moves and have to see a lot of Oswaldo, Ben rice, and DJ Lemahieu because the “price wasn’t right”

All while judge turns 34 and Cole turns 36

  8. I’ve been reading posts asking what’s Cashman’s actual plan. Here is the answer:

There is no plan. Cashman hopes to find trash on the heap to scape up and plop onto the field and hope it has sentience. And he hopes by making weird and unnecessary trades to mask the fact that he doesn’t know what the fuck he’s doing.

He traded Nestor and Durbin- two pieces that could have value in a real trade- for a role *we already have covered*. And in doing so, made a whole at second base, so that we need *fucking three positions filled*. Keep in mind, he has been balking at the not great options remaining, like Walker and the Bellinger trade. But hey, we have to fucking closers!! Yippie!!

  9. Need a real bat to carry the choker through the playoffs again, not getting Tucker is a kick in the nuts

  10. ‘Looks at picture of boobs on phone during zoom call’

“Sorry I have a lot of moves in the making”

  11. Theres no guarantee that Tucker doesnt sign an extension at end of season, there are probably teams that Tucker would sign an extension with and Yankees are probably one of them considering their history of winning.

Tucker probably has a list of teams he would love to play for and stay with.

  12. Oh crap. The “we’re not done yet” gives me flashbacks of them signing Aaron Judge and running it back with the same lineup.

  13. We had Soto, Stanton and Judge who all played well during the regular season and still lost

With Boone and current management yall still thinking a ring is coming?

  14. Feel like the Yanks are easily AL favorites still , while losing Soto. Yes it’s a sign that the AL is weak , but also a testament to how much making Fried the #2 and having Williams close and pushing Weaver to setup makes the staff better.
