But Burnes is such a perfect fit. A real culture builder. Would be really bummed if he signed elsewhere

I hope so, but it will take a much bigger contract than they just gave Adames and that was the biggest contract ever given by SF Giants.

I want to see this happen. However I can also see how ownership might hesitate. They had a couple big pitcher contracts that did not work out as well as they hoped (Zito and Cueto). They also had times when they gave up too early on young pitchers (Wheeler and Castillo). So I wonder if they are looking at their young pitchers and dragging their feet on bidding enough to close the Burnes deal now.
It’s going to be $300M+ by the time the bidding war stops.
