1. How is this possible when I was told a 31-66 GM was good at his job

2. Douglas was horrible, so glad he's gone.

3. Better be overhauled next season lol. This downfall from 2023 to 2024 really needs to be studied

4. Tackling and penalties have been brutal this year.

5. Tackling, penalties, 2 nd in the league. They practice their dance moves rather then blitz, or or zone coverages.

7. this is the WORSE defense i have seen in a jet uniform. They are embarassing. Even when they are playing good football, they cant step up in big situations. If the other team needs a touchdown, they will give up a TD. If the other team needs a FG they will give up a FG. If the other team need first downs to keep the score, they will give up the first down. They NEVER fail on choke when it comes to them

   Draft will I love DJ but we gonna have to pay sauce next year

11. build around Sherwood, Gardner, Mills, Williams brothers. Me personally Adams can be around for depth purposes a two year deal at most

12. It depends on the new system. I'd we go to 3-4 from a 4-3, then it becomes really interesting. Because how effective are JJ and Will gonna be in a 3-4. Remember Will is more of a 4-3 edge rusher. I mean both could be stand up edge rushers but is that natural for them? Do you want to extend Sherwood and keep Mosley so you have 2 good ILB for that 3-4?

    It really depends on the scheme we run next year. Sherwood I think is a must re-sign player. I think we need to rehaul. But we need a lot of help with depth. I mean, we need better Safties. We need LB depth. We need interior depth. We need a lot of help on this defense. Maybe you could run it back and get a better coaching staff to reinvigorate some guys. But right now, the team is just regressing massively and it needs fixed.

    Tough call.

13. Promote from within. Stiggers/JBC to CB2. Adams can be brought back on as he'll be an RFA. We need a couple veteran run stuffers and two EDGEs. a 3rd LB but I think Surratt can play that role perfectly. Grab a Safety(Baker?) and you're cooking.

14. The biggest weakness is the linebacker unit.
    NO legit middle linebacker and the Sherwood and Quincy Williams are overrated

15. i think the system never made sense and seemed to work only when the 4 man front was working. but when it's not, everything fell apart. their zone was always porous. in man, their backs were always getting picked and screens never covered. their never blitzing just didnt work. i resist the personnel issue but clearly we need a DT. lots of corners in the draft

17. Removing a DL and adding a LB (4-3 to 3-4) has absolutely nothing to do with poor tackling and penalties, changing just to change is not the answer, the personnel should dictate the system.

18. I think we wont draft in the top 10 , because there is a good chance that we beat the Rams and the dolphins

19. Obviously, I would let the new GM & HC decide who to bring back, but I would not be troubled by a defensive overhaul. Mosley is a leader, and they are hard to replace. He had to change his playing style to fit in with the Saleh defensive scheme. He not only complied, but played excellent football in the new system. So he is a guy I would prefer to bring back. As to many of the other 1 year contract players, I say good riddance.

20. Overhaul isn’t the right thing to do….. at least not the right word. We have Sherwood, the Williams bros, WMD, sauce, mc2, and JJ. Better coaching could help with Echols or JBC/tony Adams as well. Ulbrich was always a shitty DC. The talent is fine but the coach is shit. Safeties, DL, and maybe another edge or 2 for upgrades

21. The defense looks like a bunch of small guys.

25. The defense has one major issue. The Saleh effect. They never recovered from that gut punch. They have to resign Sherwood. Move up one of the CBs and fix a couple of other holes like safety. Still very solid foundation. 👌

26. Most of the time the Jets defense looks like a hodgepodge of players that are playing together for the first time
