Based on this write up on Bird rules, I think the fact that the Wolves have had him for 3 years (including the trade year) it doesn't matter that they renounced and resigned him since he didn't sign with anybody else. Therefore, we can go as far over the cap as we need to keep him.

I don't think it would have been realistic for him to take an 8-10 million a year pay cut to stay if they only had his Early-Bird rights but with Nickeil's past team experiences I bet he gives the Wolves a bit of a discount with how much he has flourished here.

As they say, Let Tim cook.

  1. The Howls and Growls video made me look into this because I’ll be devastated if we lose him next year.

  2. they never renounced him to my knowledge. Just declined his qualifying offer. If he was renounced, please provide a link on that.

I hate that dunking with wolves released an article advising that he was an early bird free agent.

  3. What is his realistic salary in the open market? How much of a discount could he maybe take to stay a Timberwolf? Can we keep both him and Naz even if we re-sign Randle? Im lost in this CBA
