2. I’m not sure I understand the cubs game plan this off-season. Like the only thing that makes sense would be if they’re about to make a splash on someone like burnes, Santander, or Alonso, but does that actually make them a playoff team let alone a title contender? Tucker is gonna walk after this year

3. On bellingers contact/power stats as a cubs fan: he changed his approach when he joined the cubs. He swings at a lot of first pitches but then almost becomes a completely different hitter with two strikes. He turns from a power hitter into a contact bat. So many of his hits in the past few years have been 2-strike slap hits for singles or doubles. Also, I don’t know numbers but eye-test wise Wrigley was super unfavorable to hitter this year because it felt like the wind was blowing in for every homestand. Expect home run numbers to go up even if he has a similar year to last year, especially with the short porch in play.

24. My hope is for the yankees to get proffer, resign tim hill and kahnle and call it a day. They need to be in play to sign Vlad Jr to be the Soto replacement next offseason and that becomes way more complicated if they sign Alonso or Walker to a multiyear deal. Carlos Santana on a 1 year deal would also be fine, though at his age, the production can fall off a cliff at any moment
