It’s bound to be more interesting than any all star game since the 90s. I think throwing the rising stars to the wolves is a dumb decision, but a tourney format at least might have the players trying to get into the final, and if I can have even a bare minimum level of effort from any of the players, that will be an improvement from my pov.
Just make it a 3 on 3 tournament. It’ll be an offense fest, lots of dunks and lots of fun

I don’t think theres anything they can do to make people care more and this is atleast different

You cant fall off the floor. The last All Star game was so boring that I stopped watching it at half time. I used to absolutely love All Star weekend. If I wanted to watch a bunch of players jack up 3s from 3 steps beyond half court, I would watch a regular season game.
I fully support changing up the format. Hopefully the players care a little more.

Honestly, I love it. This also opens the door to expand the player pool which is absolutely necessary in such a stacked league
We got like one quarter of intense play in honor of Kobe and the players went right back to not giving a shit. Stop trying to make the ASG something that it’s not. Silver honestly just makes it feel less important by making it a new schoolyard event every year.
I’m ok with it, in terms of NBA ratings they may have pulled the trigger on the over the air versus streaming mix. Also weakness across the regional networks, a lot of M&E activity.
Still not interested in watching it, til the players start to try to win. Too much fluffy stuff in the past.

Could even do it to where each team has to be at least one guard and one frontcourt player to make sure it’s somewhat even
