  1. I think that Manfred brings up a great point about the velocity/spin rate being the issue for TJ surgery. If pitchers really want to be less injured they need to learn how to control pitches rather than ruin their elbow trying to throw hard.

I don’t think the league values people like Greg Maddux anymore and I hate that. Just because you can’t throw 100 miles an hour (and most of the time pitchers that do give up a lot of walks), does not mean you pitch ineffectively.

Would love to see more incentives (don’t know what they should be) to bring players like that back into the mix.

  2. Dodgers have built from within. They did it so well, they were able to trade for players. And they're so successful, they can sign others. But go be a bottom dweller, anti-Dodger team.

  3. I think the owners are to blame (IMO led by Jim Crane) for a lot of the financial penny pinching over the past decade, from cutting minor league teams (which will happen again) to squeezing out veterans. I think the owners realized that after about 100 players, the next 900 still generally look like baseball on the field. If I were the players union, I would fight against any further expansion of the playoff field. You now have owners playing for the 5th and 6th playoff spots and spending accordingly. The Mariners didn't come up with their .540 out of nowhere (as much as they try to explain it). Two studies (before expanding to a 6th playoff spot) put the 5th spot at just over .540 win percentage, and the owners will only lower that bar as more teams are added to the field.

  4. Hated for it if you are over the age 40 and, sadly, loved for it if you are under 40.
Those of us over 50 actually remember when there was baseball etiquette. You know, no showboating, no bat flip, no beating you chest etc. It actually sickens me to see all that on a baseball diamond because at an early age we were taught this etiquette. You NEVER were to show up an opposing player. It just didn't happen and if it did, it got dealt with.
I am sorry, this is one area the money, the me generation ruined something that was part of baseball for over 100 years.
We will be gone in a few years so I guess it doesn't matter. You can have your show off, bat flippin game. It is yours now. To heck with tradition and humility. Very underrated.

  5. Alright turned you off with the dodgers not building from within!! Kershaw, Urias, May, Gonsolin, Stripling, Buehler, Smith, Lux, Seager, Bellinger, Pederson, Jansen, and more!! This page needs to be taken down for fake news!!

  6. I live like 15 mins from the Las Vegas Ballpark and the first time I saw a batter challenge a strike it got me all confused I didn’t know what was going on 😂
