4. Just like with Gallant, there is no scheme under Laviolette. Panarin is the entire offensive system, the coaching outside of Allaire doesn’t do jack shit on this team.

5. If the Rangers wanted to have the same record as last season, they’d have to go 40-8-3. Lmao 😭

6. A Laviolette team is bad after a deep playoff run season, who could’ve predicted that outside of anyone who’s ever looked at his coaching history. Never taken the same team to a conference finals twice, never eclipsed a .650 points percentage with the same team twice. Let’s start at the the obvious historical precedent and work our way through the locker room from there

15. Keep Shesterkin; everyone else should be available for the right price. Time to sell to the point where players like Zibanejad will waive their NMC because his only linemates left will be Carrick and Vesey. Put the young players with a future back in Hartford so they do not have to play with this group of sad sacks. Here’s the plan:

    -Send Berard, Mancini, and Edstrom to Hartford

    -Bring up players like Blidh, Belzile, and Robertson to play out the string as they are not long term answers.

    -First order of business, trade Kreider. He is a lifelong Ranger and may one day have his jersey retired; but he is one of the leaders of this team and has shown zilch. He is playoff tested and he will have value.

    -Trade Lindgren, nuff said. He can still probably net you a 3rd or maybe a 2nd.

    -Trade Smith. Expiring contract and experienced vet, get a 3rd or 4th.

    -This will upset the room more but who cares at this poiint.

    -Once healthy, see what is out there for players like Miller, Schneider, and Kakko. All are young and will have good NHL careers; just not as Rangers.

    -Zibanejad will be so sad at this point that he would probably waive his NMC to be a supporting player ANYWHERE. His AAV and term will probably lower his value so we would probably have to take a player with a bad salary back but hopefully with less term.

    -See if anyone else wants out, if they do, figure out a hockey trade that makes sense but strip this team down to the bone. This includes Adam Fox. I know most Ranger fans worship this guy but he is very overrated by our fan base. The best defensemen in the league (Makar, Hughes, Josi, etc) don’t need their defense partner to elevate their game. They do it on their own. Fox has been figured out by other teams and considering he is not a great skater and doesn’t have a great shot, I’d be fine with fielding offers for him.

    -At the end of the day, Igor is the only guy left on this team who will be here guaranteed after next season. Panarin is off the books and if this team is gonna rebuild, he’s a goner.

    -If this team was still super competitive at the end of next season, a certain pending UFA center currently playing in Edmonton might have found it very appealing to become the highest paid player in the NHL in a huge market like New York. Instead, he will see what a joke this team has become and probably re-sign in Edmonton to be an Oiler for life.

18. There is something truly rotten about this team and no amount of practices or watching video is going to solve it. The players do not want to play for this regime and management doesn’t want to reward this team with a new coach or gm. So both sides are at an impasse, the bridge is burnt. Ownership needs to step in and do something

    Mika and kreider led the forwards in ice with 17 mins and were at the bottom of the xg%.

24. I don’t have much here. Takeaways: Mika checking air (Thank you for this, Vally!) Feisty Cuylle and Laffy. Same guys showing life, same guys not doing anything. There are some even more rough games coming. Next game-Dallas. Then back home tor the Canes. See you Friday! Can’t wait to see if Kakko gets scratched Friday or maybe someone else gets penalized. Let’s keep those expectations low so it’s hard to be disappointed even more. LGR!

    I’ve seen a lot of shitty teams but I’ve never seen the environment around the shitty team care so little about how they are playing. From the players to the front office to the media
