Per Paul Bissonnette Sean Avery is flying to NY to meet with James Dolan about the state of the New York Rangers

  1. Just trying to claw his way back into relevancy.

I prefer the only time I see him is accidentally while watching a movie.

  2. Avery is not getting hired. If someone is ever going to get hired straight away as GM of an NHL team with zero organizational hockey experience at any level, it won’t be him.

  3. Nothing even surprises me with this team at this point lol. Like, what? Why? But as much as I hate to admit it, there is a small part of me that’s like “fuck it, let’s see what Avery can do.” Not because I want him or think he will be good, but because I’m so desperate for *something* to happen with this team that results in sustained changes in how they play.

  4. Dolan about to scare the team straight by bringing Avery into the locker room and telling the vets “if you don’t step up this doofus will be your next coach”

  5. The Rangers giving Avery any kind of power in the organization could be the one thing that finally gets me to stop paying attention to them.

  6. Famous locker room cancer Sean Avery is LITERALLY the worst person to be taking advice from at this moment. I wish there were some sort of mechanism for fans to Bolshevik shitty owners the fuck out of here. New Yorkers are (rightfully) so tired of Dolan, his shitty ownership, and his shitty music.

  7. Say what you will about Avery, he would build a team of grinders, guys that hit, go to the dirty areas, stand up for their teammates, and forecheck. You know all the stuff this team has been lacking forever.

  8. Not sure if people remember how much of a lift he brought this dead team in his first stint here. Seemed to keep ppl accountable and always made the other team other worldly miserable and take horrid penalties. I know some of you have some sort of bone to pick with this guy but he was one of the best all time at what he did. Anyone intently watching the rangers at that time knew exactly how important he was

  9. While I don’t want Avery anywhere near real and impactful decision making, I unironically loved him as a player and still do as an off ice personality. He is extremely polarizing and for all the reasons people dislike him, I think he’s an entertaining character in Rangers lore.

  10. Sean Avery? You have performance and attitude issues and your answer is … Sean Avery …

    Sean Avery

  11. As a Rangers & 49ers fan (I grew up around obnoxious Cowboys fans so I had to root for their heated rival at the time) these last 9 months have really sucked.
