3. Sabres are BY FAR the youngest and least-experienced team in the league. GM Adams, for whatever reason, didn't find any veterans to complement the youth, and brought in Lindy Ruff, who brought a young NJ team from 63 to 112 points in 1 year. We won't know about these players for another 2-3 years. GM Adams won't last that long.

12. I think for the Sabres this falls completely on the owners. When players, general managers and coaches are constantly being swapped out over 14 years or whatever it's been that's on the owner. but Kevin Adam's will take the fall and a new guy will come in and the losing will continue.

19. not only did the rangers win the presidents trophy and knock out two teams, they knocked out carolina. for the 2nd time in 3 years. hockey analytics darling getting smacked by elite finishing a power play and a goalie. the five on five malaise is only being magnified because the rangers this season have not had elite finishing around the net or a feared power play

22. Montreal with Cary Price knocked out teams and made it to the SCF and are now rebuilding. Ottawa made the conference finals and took the cup winners to Game 7 double OT. They started rebuilding the next year.

    That's how I view the Rangers. Shesterkin is their superstar and he can cover a lot of warts when everyone is overperforming. Now that everyone is underperforming it's a tire fire. Same with Carey Price in Montreal and Erik Karlsson in Ottawa before they entered their rebuilds.

40. as a Ranger fan, I don't blame Laviolette. He's coaching the team Drury gave him and Drury assembled an inherently flawed team and the Rangers have histoprically been a terrible team for developing young players. People forget that when Kreider was putting up wioth Tortarella he was getting scratched, dropped, sent down and brought up and jerked around his first few years and everyone wrote him off as mid. I cannot think of a single player that NYR drafted and turned into a cornerstone piece. Adam Fox might be the closest thing and even he is regressing. The Rangers are a bad organization, that much is clear. I hope they give LAvi the rest of the season and cut him loose but what I am hearing the rumor is that Joel Quenville may be considered as a viable replacement and if they bring him in as a coach…I'd have to take a long break from the Rangers and reconsider my fandom of the team. I'm not going to get behind a coach who stood by and let happen what happened in Chicago in 2010.

41. One has missed the playoffs for 13 years and are on a 11 game losing streak, the other one won the presidents trophy last year, has a top 3 goalie in the league and are currently at NHL 500. Rags fans have NO idea what it’s like.
