Worst goalies this year

  1. I’m SHOCKED that Georgie isn’t #1 on this list. He’s the worst starting goalie I’ve ever watched for an extended period of time. Thank fuck he can’t hurt as anymore

  2. Sharks could have had a Blackwood/Askarov tandem lead them to mediocrity.

Instead we get Vanacek/Georgiev leading them to another lottery pick. Kids get a year to acclimate with zero pressure.

Askarov takes the reigns next year and the climb from the basement really begins.

    Mike Grier masterclass.

  3. Saros (not on this list)with only 7 wins, 3 of them shutouts is criminal. I love him but his team is failing him. 😰

  4. Oh Primeau….you little ball of disappointment.

I think the the legacy of Price was too intimidating for him.

  5. Maybe we can offer Fedotov to Florida for Bobrovksky, and when they burst out laughing we can show them this chart.

  6. Ingram is going to be stuck there for a while. He’s been hurt for over a month and apparently “isn’t close.”

  7. Makes sense. I picked swayman in my fantasy league this year.

I’m a player killer. I had cmc in football this year.

I have a history of players performing terribly or getting injured when I pick them. I have a list of of players I’ve done this to over the years.

  8. How in the shit is the Blackhawks goalie corps not on this list?

I guess there’s an advantage to being at rock-bottom, there’s nowhere to go but up

  9. Last night Georgiev gave up a goal on the second shot (PP), then two reasonably soft goals in the third period to seal the win for Colorado.

So glad he is not on our team any more.

I remember when people on this sub tirelessly defended his awful play.

  10. Feels nice to have none of our goalies there, a turnaround from last season. Both Forsberg and Korpisalo were terrible.

  11. Yeah, sure there’s shock value with seeing Swayman at the top of this table (as it’s currently sorted). But data literacy is hard, and interpreting this data as “Swayman is the worst G in the league” is, plainly, a surface level take.

As others have said, I would much prefer to see it sorted by per 60 with a minimum number of games played.

  12. With due respect, this is a shitty representation of their play – it should be filtered by the next column over (per 60).

Filter for 9 or 10 games played & GSAx/60, and you’ll see some stark differences:

    – Swayman is way better than this chart makes him look (Silovs hit his number in 1/3 of Swayman’s games!)
    – Fleury’s performing way worse than shown here
    – Spencer Martin’s worse than shown here (low sample size though)
    – Tarasov’s worse

  13. Georgiev getting traded from Colorado to San Jose last week and then losing last night to Colorado in San Jose has to be pretty demoralizing. Swayman and Ullmark are a Prince Rupert’s drop. When they were separated they exploded into a billion shards of glass.
