22. Russell has given this team its best qb play in YEARS already. And after two losses to a pair of the best teams in the league without wr1 everyone is ready to give up on him.

    Justin Fields wasn’t going to come into this game w a cape and save the day. Russell has outperformed JF2 in every important metric except rushing. And this team can do so much more w a qb that can actually open the passing game. Russell had made some costly mistakes in a bad game… it happens. It’s not the end of the world. 29. I know they *won't* fire Tomlin but just…sigh…where does it end then? If they'll NEVER fire him, where does it end? I'm sorry but I don't have much hope in winning a playoff game regardless of seeding. The team is too injured and even if healthy they're suspect. So basically a decade without a playoff win. Is he going to stay until he's 70? Like Belichick and Carroll? 20 more years of this? And probably no playoff win in that time either?

    And Arthur Smith is bad. I understand that we're all still traumatized by two years of Matt Canada and Fitchner before that. It's been like 8 years since Steelers fans saw a functional, modern offense (Killer Bs), but just because Person A is bad doesn't make Person B good. They can both be bad and Smith is. His game plans are atrocious. His obsession with using his guys who are often WORSE than other talent on the roster got him run out of Atlanta and yes, he's doing it here now with the obsession of using Patterson, Pruitt, etc over Friermuth, Williams and such. You could give Arthur Smith prime Moss and Rice and he'd still choose to use Pruitt and his own guys over them. It's dumb and it's costing us wins. He also does run run pass way too much. He's not aggressive even when they're down 10+ pts…he still just does these dumb little dink and dunk things.

31. I never bought into the talk about the Steelers being serious contenders. I always felt they were a mediocre team. Hurts to say this as a long time fan going back to the days of the Steel Curtain.
