being helped by terrible officiating and an penalized injury to a star player.

Look at the bright side. It’s hard to beat a team 3 times. We got the loss out of the way in the event of playing them in the playoffs. Without Jalen they won’t know how to prepare for the adjustments we made from the prior game, bc we didn’t play long enough with Jalen for them to see all the adjustments. Bring them to our house right nowwww

It was clear to me that both Olson and Davis got exactly what they were hoping for, a Washington win. The officiating was horrible, how they called a couple of those early Personal fouls on the Eagles and then don’t call a penalty of the hit that knocked Hurts out is crazy. The loss may actually be a blessing in disguise, but it still sucks.
But it was Ohtani he’d be crying all game. Dork.
Ehh…Jalen Hurts doesn’t play defense. Should be able to hold an opponent to less than 30 points…even without our starting QB.
An announcer going a little far with superlatives on a game winning TD throw…was not the problem.

It was really weird, especially because during the time Hurts was playing it seems pretty obvious the Eagles would have easily won that game. Sure he isn’t perfect, but he is no Kenny Pickett coming in cold for the first time this year.
But the whole cast seemed off tbh. Incredibly pro Washington all the way through. I don’t know, maybe they were trying to build up the probable playoff match between the teams by talking the Commanders up
I actually really like Olson and Joe Davis usually. His “Swing Of His Life” call for Harper’s HR in game 5 of the NLCS is an all-timer. Olson also called out how BS the Chiefs winning the Super Bowl on that ticky tack holding in ‘22 live on air.
They were rough yesterday though.
If Mahomes went out in the first quarter the announcers would never shut up about it for the rest of the game.
Their game script was contingent on the Commanders beating a fully healthy Eagles team, so once that went out the window, they still had to find a way to spin things in a way that made this win seem more impressive for the Commanders.
When you listen to how one-side the broadcast was, it becomes evident:
* Constant, unfettered praise for Jayden Daniels while failing to acknowledge that three of his TDs were on blown coverage (with one being a gimme due to the personnel issue).
* Completely glazed over his Daniel Jones-esque interceptions.
* Minimal acknowledgement, as noted above, that the Commanders were playing an Eagles team without their QB1, and some of their top defensive players.
* Refusal to acknowledge horrible officiating and no-calls.
* Refusal to acknowledge the lucky breaks that helped them win.
* Refusal to acknowledge a number of late, and dirty hits on Eagles QBs.
* **Most damningly of all, the live radio call in Washington did not mention that Jalen Hurts did not return to the game.**

I saw him bounce his head off the turf live and told my friends he was out for the game. Then he stood up and was wobbly. The worst was when they showed him giving the thumbs up to the ref. It was clear instantly he was knocked out. Greg Olsen isn’t too bad usually but man they were just brutal yesterday.

Remember when the Whiners bitched about playing without a QB in the 2022-23 NFCCG. There are no excuses, we have a good roster and kept the game competitive throughout. Stalling out on offense has an indirect impact on the defense. Let’s also not kid ourselves. Jayden Daniels is a legitimate all purpose QB. We haven’t seen someone like him since Vick.
I don’t even are what people think about it – just sucks it happened this week with the 1 seed still available.
Honestly Pickett could probably beat the Commanders with a week prep and game planning and not getting thrown in. But clearly need Jalen for any of the actual good teams.
