  1. They need some big guys who can skate. The Devils’ players literally looked huge next to the Rangers. It was like Kramer fighting children at the dojo.

  2. If this team is going to be disassembled, how is anyone going to know what the parts are worth after this year’s performance?

  3. It was an expected result but still disappointing. Takeaways: I don’t think making Kreider the healthy scratch is the answer. *cough*Mika*cough* they were even more sloppier than usual which I didn’t think was possible but they proved me wrong. The team leaving Quick hanging so he’s the sole defender. Same bs different day. The PK which was working decided to quit on us today. 🤔It was nice to see Cuylle on PP1 but why did it have to take so damn long to get him there. And yet we still had Mika out there until finally he wasn’t. Non-Mika PP1 needs more practice time and it could work. I still say that saddling Berard or anyone with Mika is not helping. Let the bromance line roll together. We know it doesn’t work even if they don’t. Clearly they don’t know what’s broken and have no idea how to start to fix it. They should be extremely embarrassed to keep playing like that for the fans but especially for Sam’s last season. Onto Saturday and Tampa. A very much needed break for us fans. Happy holidays!

  4. They are softer then soft. They got pushed around and beat up by the fu–ing Devils It was embarrassing. Coaching staff should be gone no life. Coach teach these guys do something.

  5. Artemi Panarin is 33 and coming off of a stellar year. It is absolutely time to trade him for much needed pieces.

I’m not blaming Panarin for this season. I’m just acknowledging his trade value in combination with the trajectory of this team.

  6. Team is too slow to compete. There are lots of problems but that’s the biggest one. It needs to be a priority in the inevitable retool/rebuild that’s coming.

  7. I forgot the game was early. Not sad I missed it. TWELVE shots? Wtf??? Embarrassing is too weak a word!

  8. I think this is the point at which I cancel my Gotham sub for an indefinite period. It’s just sad to watch what this competitive and entertaining team have become. No real NHL compete level except for 5-6 players. Not sure how GM and coach hang around when 90+% of your roster is not even close to reasonable standards of performance. The fanning on shots/passes, not taking open shots, and the too many men penalties – really? How many more red flags can there be? Never would have thought I would feel the NEED to walk alway.

  9. Once the New Year’s Eve ball drops, How many of Laviolette, Kreider, and Lindgren are still employed by this organization?

Also, tell Mika he can agree to enter the player development program or take a suite in the press box. He has completely given up out there – saying he goes through the motions would be giving him way too much fucking credit. The guy should not be dressing for this team again for the foreseeable future.

  10. I said it in the GDT and I’ll post it here

It’s the same problem every time.

Can’t transition zones worth a shit and when they do, their positioning is so piss poor that it’s comically easy to defend against.

There’s either all Rangers on the same side, when they do have a good spread there’s no movement to draw the defense and open shooting lanes, too predictable with moving the puck, if they manage to accept a pass they take too long to set up or are sloppy and have to correct, allowing goalies and defense to get into counter-position. Then the finishing, god it has to be the worst in the league at this point.

This team rarely gets goalied, it’s the forwards making it easy for the other team to be ready for them.

Do they even fucking practice what to do when they get into the o zone?

  11. I’ve been a Rangers fan for about 15 years now. We have had bad stretches before, we’ve had some bad and some terrible players, and some mediocre coaches also. Of course a couple of terrible trades as well . But I think this is the first time in all those years, I have seen this team collectively give up. Not one player is stepping up, no one is taking charge of this fucking mess of a season.

I am ashamed to witness such apathy from professional athletes. I know now, that last season, is as far as this core will ever go. I’ve had some bad times watching the Rangers in the past, but nothing quite like this. At this point I really don’t care what happens to this group of players, but something needs to change.
    Rant over, merry Christmas.

  12. The Devils were able to do whatever they wanted for the entire 60 minutes. They skated circles around the rangers and imposed themselves physically. Pure domination.

  13. Enough of these old fart head coaches who still view hockey through the same lens as when they played the sport a hundred years ago. The only guy who is good enough to still get away with it is Tortorella and I think we can all agree he’s truly a one-of-a-kind coach. Please for once hire somebody who is analytically-minded, forward-thinking, and believes in player development.

The Laviolette, Lindy Ruff, Darryl Sutter, Quenneville, Boudreau, Gallant-type coaches of the world just aren’t it anymore.

  14. This is a bad team playing badly. Thats what happened. A bad team playing well or a good team playing badly can be saved by great goaltending, but these goals aren’t stoppable (other than that first one). Quick and Igor don’t deserve this shit.

  15. Can’t believe we’ve had to sit through two shitty tenures of Drury with this team. From being a massively overpaid player to being a room temperature IQ GM. A real club legend.

  16. Well, my first time to MSG isn’t looking too good. At least it’s in March so hopefully they get a bit better by then.

  17. You think your’e at rock bottom and the bottom falls out further with each loss. This simply can’t continue on, you can’t continue to operate like this under the guise of a team that should be winning. Were gonna see major trade and perhaps somewhat of a blow up after the freeze/near deadline.

Then a full on retool and rebuild in the offseason.

Stings to admit but it’s beyond over with this group. Tough times and decisions ahead.

I love Igor and his competitiveness and commitment to the organization during tough times but they should not have signed him to that deal. I have no idea what the rush was to give him that deal.

  18. I wonder if Trouba is on the team Timo still breaks his fucking stick cross checking Panarin. Team is so soft. Trouba for all his faults had a killer instinct. Fuck you if you disagree and fuck your analytics. Because obviously it doesn’t matter!!!!!
