Cardinals hung up the phone immediately on the Yankees.
Nolan Arenado trade talks with the Yankees hit a bump in the road, that bump being Marcus Stroman. The Cardinals didn’t want any part of Marcus Stroman in a deal for the third baseman.

I’m surprised that the Yankees are trying for him considering they weren’t on the list of 6 teams he was willing to waive his no trade clause for
Yankees really going for Donaldson 2.0
He is only 33????
Well F them then, see what the Padres want for that 2nd baseman with the 323 career batting average and keep Jazz at 3rd.
Stroman 's 3rd year kicks in if he reaches 140 innings pitched this year. Which The Yankees and other team will make damn sure doesn't happen, 😆
adding Nolan to the Yankees with Judge,Bellinger, Stanton they would be the sexiest team in sports 😊
1:33 THANK YOU 100% correct
It would be so surreal to see Goldy and Arenado on the Yankees lol
Their all washed up! 😊
Fried good
Williams good
Bellinger good
Goldschmidt bad
Goldschmidt is going to be 37 y.o. in 2025. His numbers have been in sharp decline over the last 2 years. He had a poor year in 2024. While generally speaking it's not unusual for star players to bounce back from subpar years, it's kind of rare for a player who is about to be 37 y.o. to bounce back
from a bad year. These guys don't last forever. A poor year at his age usually means the player is coming to the end.. And a player his age who has seen his numbers decline a lot each of the last 2 years isn't a great sign either.
This has "Josh Donaldson" written all over it.
Why are they trying to get washed up players instead of going for players in their prime? Santander and Bregman > Oldschmit and Arenado.
Right… they just hung up. Great way to do business with other GM’s. GTFOH!
It's click bait because Jack Curry said that the Yankees and Cardinals are still talking.
Good info!! Nice! I just Subscribed!! Please keep it coming!
I'm happy with all the moves the Yankees have made so far with max Fried, Cody Bellinger and Williams but Goldschmidt, Arenado, are past their prime.. I would have rather kept first base open for the rookie and develop him more. I hope they trade stroman he's the sixth starter and the odd man out.
Yeah this is kinda old news, happened before the winter meetings . Us getting goldy actually helps our chances to get em, they are close asf and he may wanna wave that no trade clause now
I wonder why the cardinals don’t want Stroman. He’s a solid #3 or 4 SP
I’m good with Arenado
Just want jazz at 2nd
Get everybody in their best position. D fence baby
Yankees will still not win a WS
Yankees have less than zero interest in Arenado. This was all about moving Stroman since they knew they were getting fried
Stroman is too hittable. Yanks would have to throw in money if they want to move him.
Stroman literally only got signed because Yankees traded an entire rotation for Soto
I like Goldy, but let's not get too right-handed AGAIN.
I agree Armando isn’t the way to go he has 3 years left and a lot of money owed per year but golds is a one year deal it saves money for next year when Tucker is fa
The cards blew it earlier this off-season once Soto signed with the Mets and the Astros had a deal with the cards, but Arenado refused to go. The Yankees offered to take Arenado if the cards would take Stroman but Arenado is owed 53 million. Stroman is only owed a18 million with an option. But in order for that option to vest Stroman must pitch 130 innings, which will never happen as the Yankees sixth starter.. So the Cardinals are now probably stuck paying Arenado 53 million over 3 years. And the Yankees are likely stuck paying Stroman 18 million and will not allow Stromans option to vest. The Yankees planned to use Arenado at 1st, but once they signed Goldschmidt that ended all interest in Arenado
arenado is washed
Yankees taking a big step back next year… mets are the new big team in newyork
1:18 that meme never gets old 😂
So you didn't learn a lesson from the Donaldson acquisition?
Ultimately, Arenado wants to play for his hometown Dodgers. He really doesn't want to play anywhere else. He will only choose another destination if the Dodgers tell him no. The Dodgers seem to be playing a game of chicken with the Cardinals on this as well as with Teoscar Hernandez. Time to face it, the Yankees are stuck with Stroman unless they take back an equally bad contract. If the Yankees don't find some way to improve their defense, they could be looking at not making the playoffs at all in 2025.
I think they will start to transition judge to first base soon to keep him healthy and his legs fresh. In the next yr or two mark my words judge will be there regular first baseman. Guys his size don't last as long playing outfield positions the older they get. I would of had Rice and Rizzo platoon first and used that money on third base (Since jazz is moving to second).
They just signed Goldy, means they are not done trying to scoop up Nolan.
This article supposed to depress or anger Yankees fans? In Cash, I trust. (Most of the time.)
He sucks
Not really, Kyle Tucker would have been a better adquisition than Bellinger, the same with getting Goldschmidt instead of Christian Walker…
You talked about the Yankees acquisitions in the offense and didn't even mention Max Fried? That's just kind of silly. 😂
The Yankees are saving some money for next year for Vlad Guerrero jr, and Kyle Tucker
Yanks need to get Nolan. We all know this. Obviously cards won’t trade him for a guy making more then him 💩💩💩💩💩
Yankee fan by birth, Cardinal fan by choice. I love it when the players I lose from one goes to the other, then I don’t really lose them.
The Yankees tried trading for Nolan Arenado, but the talks ended the second Marcus Stroman’s name came up. Cardinals hung up immediately. Seems like Stroman isn’t the trade chip they hoped he’d be!
I am glad they hung the phone up. Arenado doesn't work in NY, he is a dead pull hitter, great fielder but hitting won't translate to NY.
Nolan's coming to the Yankees, regardless of Stroman who'll be dumped on some other GM's lap, because he's no longer got a starting spot in the Bronx.
Cardinals have to realize they overpaid for this player, they will have to take less for him and chip in money for that CRAZY contract. If they think he's worth a Schmidt or Gil they're crazy. Stroman is about right. Maybe the Yankees pay $20 mil of his salary. Yankees should sign Kim from SD for 2B. Pick up another OF. Insurance for Stanton.
Couldn't give Stroman away.
Other than Juan Soto?
You remind me of that old joke. Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the show?
