My wife asked me if I wanted to go to a game and I said no. I actually said no to seeing the Rangers.
I washed my hands of this franchise when I wasted $500 on game 7 vs the devils. They’ll never change. They’re mid, always have been
Like 10 years ago I was in NYC near Christmas (I think it was right before the trump election) and I paid big money, especially when you consider CAD-USD conversion, to sit like 10 rows up watch the Rangers smoke the Devil’s in the opposite way. 5 or 6-0 and by the end of it the crowd was quiet, it was half empty, and the energy was gone. I did get to talk to a superfan who was one of those, owns a jersey from every enforcer that ever played the game kind of guys. It was pretty badass.

I told some guy yesterday to stay home and sell his tickets. Hope he listened.
If anyone spends another minute or dollar on this team, that’s on you.
I was there today with my family. We bought the tickets months ago. I had zero expectations going into this game but…. my god.
I still have ~6 games left in my package. Still gonna go but won’t be buying a cent’s worth of concessions.

I remember when the games against at Devils and Islanders homes were cheaper. I can’t go to hockey games unless I luck out and get it for free as a gift.
Seriously, the prices to Rangers games is fucking lame. I know it’s the logistics of the NYC market but it’s probably the worst part of supporting this team.. As someone that tuned out since around Vig’s last year and all thru Quinn’s tenure, I came back to the team just wanting to go to a game.
I visited Boston with my fiancee recently and on a whim decided to catch the Columbus v Bruins game (which turned our to be Montgomery’s last).. $100 for two tickets. Granted it was the second to last seat but in an arena like that, there’s no absurd obstruction and the view was just fine.
I just checked Dallas vs Chicago next week and it’s $173 for a Section 114 seat at United Center. Practically right on the ice. That would get you a lame 300 or 400 section at MSG.. $25-40 for mid to high seats. I hate saying that and feeling bad about it but it is what it is. Just want to go watch my team play but can’t justify those prices, esp with how they’re playing lately.
No way should anyone pay $140 for one ticket to watch that garbage..
