  1. It's time to consider contracting the Icelanders from the league. This franchise is abysmal, an absolute embarrassment to the game and irrelevant for over 4 decades now! The league should be cut down to 28 teams, remove the minor league franchises starting with the Icelanders. I have grown to hate this team I loved as a kid!

  2. It didn't work and I would usually think it's a stupid thing to do. But given it's against Buffalo and the way they've been blowing leads and losing games, it was worth a shot to try

  3. stanley cup winner Ville Nieminen did this in the exact same situation in the second highest finnish league in the playoffs and won the match. not 100% sure of all the details but quite close to the same.. and ofc I recognize the difference of this being nhl and all that but it was still crazy how it worked out.

  4. What else did he have to lose at that point besides pride? Also, was Buffalo not in a slump? It seems crazy, sure. But, at the same time, might as well get the 6 on 5 practice like the commentator said. Islanders did okay on it, for someone who has barely followed the season. Sure, they could have made more shots on goal. But, they got rebounds, did pretty well stopping the first rush from getting the empty net. They definitely could have gotten more shots on net, which is a given. Is Roy going to get heat for this? Maybe. But, for knowing majority of how the game operates, it's not the worst thing I've seen this season. All sports have become laughable, don't get me wrong. I just don't see anything to laugh or be outraged at here, and more of an interesting move.
