He has arrived. Most likely won't win until we can contend but he will definitely get ballots. 👽

  1. Doncic will miss time – Wemby will jump him.

We are only 2 games back of the Nuggets and the 5th seed.

It’s unlikely but totally possible Vic could sneak into the top 5 in final voting this season.

  2. Does he belong in the first team all NBA conversation? Seems crazy to say yes since the Spurs are likely to finish the season around .500, but after Luka loses eligibility, is he top 5 in the league? Joker, Giannis, SGA, Tatum, Wemby?

  3. Victor Wembanyama at #6 on the MVP ladder? At 20 years old? The guy just started and he’s already casually hanging out with names like Jokic and Giannis. Unreal. Honestly, if he keeps improving at this pace, we might as well pencil him into the top 3 next season. Maybe even #1 if the universe decides to bless us Spurs fans a little extra.

For anyone stressing about the team’s future, take a breath. All eyes are already on us, and Wemby is leading the way. The improvements we’ve seen this season alone should have everyone hyped. We’re back on the map, baby, and it’s only going to get better from here.

The Spurs dynasty 2.0 is loading. Let’s enjoy the ride.

  4. For obvious reasons, Victor has pretty much no shot of actually winning, but what he does have a genuine shot at, which is insane to even imagine, is finishing as a finalist as a 20/21-year-old second year player.

It also feels like unless he, or the Spurs, really fall off, he’s probably going to receive genuine MVP votes this year, which again is incredible All things considered.

Particularly when you remember again that offense, were this award really gets its consideration, isn’t even the best side of the court for him.
