As a pure LT in Northwestern Wildcats, Skoronski was asked/forced to play LG after drafted by Titans. One obvious reason was due to his super short 32 1/4 arms, although Bucs let Luke Goedeke (also 32 1/4 arms) stayed at his college position RT and both sides are enjoying dividends.

One year later, Skoronski has fully become accustomed to LG. Look at his pressures allowed chart: he has moved into the upper half among guards, and, most important of all, he is playing better and better throughout his second season.

I think we should appreciate his sacrifice as he secures 1/5 of OL.

  1. It’s good to see but he needs to be way up in the top right next season for him to worth 11th overall.

  2. Not to be a Debbie downer or anything but this post suggests he’s only slightly better than radunz, and is at the moment an average guard. He was touted to be a perennial all pro if he was moved inside, that just hasn’t happened (yet).

  3. I refuse to “give flowers” to an interior OL taken in the top 11 of his draft performing at a near-average level in his second season.

  4. When you force a natural LT into LG, then it’s reasonable that this player needs additional time to adjust. Titans would rather play Duncan at LT while sticking Skoronski to LG. Skoronski was never given a chance to play LT.

  5. Just move him back to his natural position. He’s a LT and I think he would play better there.
