Hey! I grew up in Greendale!
I think I was ten with my dad in o6.
On July 12, 1962, Hank Aaron hit a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the ninth inning to defeat the Cardinals 8-6:
Aaron's grand slam came after his brother, Tommie, hit a solo home run to start the inning's scoring. Roy McMillan and Mack Jones singled, and Mathews walked before Aaron hit the winning grand slam……I was seven when my two older sisters, cousin and our parents went to this Braves/Cards game. It was bittersweet irony as the adults decided to get a jump on traffic and left the game during the top of the 9th inning. We were walking to the parking lot and heard the play by play over the PA system…Story of my life, I never left a Brewer game until the last out was in the books!
