Getting outbid by the Dbacks is honestly fucking insane. I pray to god they sell this team to someone who cares.
I love Posey. But it was a pipe dream to begin with. Zito’s contract comes to mind when it comes to failed long term pitching deals. But also, fuck the opt out after two seasons bullshit, too. I’m not too upset. Now go sign Flaherty, Roki and Santander and call it a day.

– it’s because of his new baby
– it’s because the contract was just bigger

I don’t understand the plan moving forward.
I don’t buy the whole California state income tax narrative either. It hasnt stopped the Dodgers or Padres from being competitive and Juan Soto signing with the Mets will come with a hefty tax bill from New York State which is always ranked as one of the most unfriendly tax states at a state level
