[Joel Erickson] Richardson has now missed 16 of a possible 33 starts in the NFL due to 4 separate injuries: concussion, sprained AC joint in throwing shoulder, hip/oblique, back/foot. Can’t really wave away availability concerns anymore.

  1. He is injury prone. Tough luck may be it has to do with nutrition when he was a kid. Josh Allen and Mahomes do similar things but stay on field longer.

  2. I still don’t really think the concussion is fair game because that happens to everybody all the time, and he specifically hit his head on the ground on that play. But the rest… it’s not great.

  3. This would be hard to ignore even if he was playing well.

As it stands, he’s pretty inconsistent and regularly unavailable. Either of those are hard to work with, both is a bad spot to be in.

  4. Ain’t it. It’s over.

Only way he’s even worth being on the field is running and his body can handle it.

  5. Yea it sucks. We can go back and forth about his talent around this sub. No one can really ignore the availability. Can’t defend the potential if it’s not on display.

  6. The best ability is availablity. But we should still play him as much as possible next season to see if he have all the other abilities

  7. Okay? He’s still probably getting another year, just let it be until he’s not a Colt. I’ll root for him until he’s not.

  8. Uh, his career starting percentage is higher than his completion percentage. That’s good right…?

  9. Still think that he’s the starter in 2025, but really won’t be surprised or *that* upset if a different direction is chosen. Rooting for the kid but it’s a short list of positives and longer list of negatives when describing his Year 2.

  10. I can’t lie, I’m willing to deal with the growing pains of him becoming better, but couple that with the injuries and it’s hard to believe we shouldn’t be drafting another QB, as high as possible, next year.

  11. I am ok with another year, but I think this draft is someone drops in the 2nd-3rd rounds you grab them to be at least a high end backup, looks like if AR does pan out we are going to need a solid backup than can run a similar offense.

  12. We’re going to start next year in the same exact position we started this year.

  13. I’ve seen enough. It’s tanking time next year we need an overhaul in almost every single position QB and HC included

  14. Tomorrow is a must win game to stay alive (unless Denver wins today).

If this were Burrow or Allen they wouldn’t miss a must win game cause they are sore. Fricken pathetic display

  15. Made of glass and can’t throw a football. RIP AR your time in Indy will hopefully be forgotten in 2026 when we find a real franchise QB

  16. Ok, fire Ballard, hire new GM. Tank next year, and then fire Steichen and then cut Richardson. Rebuild starts with this draft and 2026.

  17. Someday many years from now he might finally have enough games played so that we can stop calling him a rookie

  18. GMS fault. We should never taken an unproven 1 year player. The most important box to check when evaluating a player is success on the field. He did not have that period. Speed, arm, strength, don’t mean shit if you can’t turn it into success.

  19. Clean house now. Ballard,Richardson, taylor, mitchell cant catch ball, whoever gets u early round picks trade them. Steichen he can go to.

  20. It’s time to blow up the team.

But unlike some people I want Shane to stay as HC. I think he’s got something good. I think there is a future there just not with Richardson.
Can’t call plays for a QB who can’t read the defense or make a pass.

We have to change drafting and FA style. Ballard has got to actually do something and draft Football Players! Not just athletes.

  21. The ability of Jim Irsay to fool an idiotic fanbase that this is a team worth investing money or time in is incredible.

  22. Even if he’s not the answer due to injuries, this isn’t the draft class to move on from him. Outside of Sanders and Ward (who we have zero chance of getting), the talent sucks:

Milroe is Richardson 2.0 in terms of being athletic but very raw as a passer

Beck is a game manager whose game falls apart the moment the pocket collapses even somewhat

Ewers might not even be declaring but he’s basically killed a lot of his draft hype over the last two seasons due to being inconsistent

Gabriel is a poor man’s Bo Nix with none of the hype

Dart has some potential but isn’t a day 1 starter and likely needs to sit behind a vet for a few seasons

Richardson is likely going to be a QB for 2025 which will be a prove it year for Ballard and Steichen as well.
