Colts source adds some context: Richardson is dealing with back spasms. There had previously not been a specific diagnosis revealed.

  1. Looking forward to the inevitable debate between the youngings who have never had back spasms and will say AR is soft for not playing through them and the old heads who will tell you back spams are unfathomably painful and AR is smart for not playing

  2. Figured there was more to it than soreness but this team needs to get better at communicating. Letting AR get killed for looking soft when there is a legitimate reason he’s out

  3. As much as I wanted AR to succeed, he’s too injury prone. It’s not going to get better. He’s missed more games than he’s played and he’s not able to stay on the field long enough to make any actual progress with his passing game.

  4. This is still from ā€œa source.ā€ The team hasn’t said anything yet. Holder is pretty reliable so I’m sure he’s good for it, but so shady we had to hear it from him first.

  5. Saying it was soreness was coaching malpractice. The only time they do it is if they want to make the QB look bad so they can move on from him

  6. What the hell is Shane doing hiding this? Let’s keep throwing our QBs under the bus with our piss poor PR. Can anyone in this organization handle the media?

  7. Just another excuse. If our guys are getting hurt that often then we need to look at the stretching and weight training program and who is running those areas

  8. Am I losing my mind or has the reports all week been he’s had a back issue why is everyone here acting surprised

  9. Folks, it’s a big red flag when an organization starts to downplay or sidestep something that ends up keeping their star/key player out.

This organization cannot stand to admit fault. I don’t think things behind those closed doors are going as well as they’d like everyone to believe.

  10. So it’s a situation like Michael Pittman, but Pitt was able to decide to play with his bad back, which probably shortened his career not going on IR and trying to rest it properly. Richardson didn’t get the choice because of the position he plays, his current play style is running ton (Which he won’t last long in the NFL), Colts FO still don’t know what they really want to do and hoping the band aid route finally works (It won’t). Lastly back injuries are no joke that shit is a pain to live with.

  11. Back spasms are horrendous. And any player would be less than useless on a football field when suffering from them. Good that he’s sitting. I wonder what the root cause is?

  12. Realistically, they’ll probably look into a QB in FA or later in the draft, right? There’s gotta be internal concerns at this point regarding his durability.

  13. As an athlete that has dealt with them, they’re a bitch! Sometimes they fire out of nowhere too. At the worst times. I feel him, man

  14. I’m sorry guys, but we have to start looking at moving on from this project. It’s not working out.

  15. He’s cooked. Go ahead and make the trade for Cousins CB. I know you’re wet and horny for old white washed up QBs.

  16. He seems like a nice guy, but the best ability is availability and his completion percentage is hovering around his percentage of games played…

Fortunately for us, all the QBs in this draft are straight garbage

  17. I’ve posted in the Pacers sub about my experience with back spasms. I played soccer through college and have suffered from spasms since I was in my late teens. They are debilitating. It’s hard to even get out of bed. Now that I’m in my 40s, my spasms can last weeks-months. I’m a runner now and when my back is acting up, everything stops until I get into what I call a recovery phase. My point is, they are NO JOKE. It sucks bad. Really bad.

  18. He hasn’t had back surgery. Why is the reporting such shit? This isn’t difficult.

  19. Just swap him and Haliburton in and out. I mean, Haliburton is an athletic freak who probably can’t complete 50% of his passes either…so whats the difference.
