People always like the home runs (Though Cobb did win a HR title I believe) – but Cobb was the best of his time. Even with all the other talent.

I think Ruth gets more love as a “better” player because he literally changed the game single handedly. For a few years, he hit me home runs than entire teams. He brought baseball out off the dead ball era. Cobb was an amazing player though

He led the league in every major offense category except home runs. Which season was better? Maybe 1917 when his war was better but none of his stats were better?
