  1. I liked the way the Leafs played tonight. Washington is no joke this year, and we stuck with them for the whole game. Logan Thompson made some incredible saves, so GG Washington.

  2. Maple Leafs outplayed themselves. Too many sad-sack powerplay efforts and dubious netminding. Never has the lack of goaltending redundancy which existed earlier felt so detrimental to this hockey club.

  3. Like, this has got to stop. Polivere needs to win a carbon tax election, NOW, so he can point a theoretical gun at Uncle Gary and say "If you keep screwing NHL teams from Canada out of winning games, American City teams will have to pay 10 times as much money just to come to Canada.

  4. The teams were well matched, I think the goaltending was the difference. Not that Murray played badly, it's just that he was outplayed by Thompson, who had a great night.

  5. The leafs played well, but they didn't capitalize on their chances… it was a good game, but the leafs need to start winning these games, against tough opponents….

  6. The team put in a solid effort, generating enough chances to win, but poor finishing and costly mistakes made the difference. Both sides played well, but the game came down to goaltending, and Murray clearly came up short.

While not all the blame falls on him—some goals were inevitable, and defensive lapses created prime scoring opportunities—a few were undeniably soft. With Woll or Stolarz in net, this might’ve at least gone to overtime.

The offensive pressure was a positive takeaway, but this game highlighted the team’s heavy reliance on goaltending—and just how precarious that dependence can be.

  7. I would have coached these last two games differently & put Murray in against DET & Woll vs WSH. Murray is NOT the same calibre as he has been before & the Leafs needed to showcase what their #1 can do against a top-tier team. Boys played hard & didn't get the bounces they needed. We seriously need a better 4th line & 2 capable Centres… ugh.

  8. Unfortunately, the Leafs' attack has become very weak in recent games. Having a number of such high-class forwards, they play so primitively and toothlessly in attack! What nonsense! Their coaches need to worry about this, and not just about their willpower.

  9. Leafs have a good team this year but…. not so good that they can dress 2 seat warmers. What is Holmburg and Dewar doing? Every other shift has the team down a player with them on the ice. Like them or not, Alex Nylander and Reaves brings more to the team than Holmburg, Dewar or Minton do.

  10. TY Jelly man HNY to you all.what can I say Caps goalie saved their game totally robbing our boys who I think just had to much turkey lol. Next year they better pick up their socks and play team hockey.

  11. Why does Matt Murray continue to get chances. He has been awful for years now. Plus, why take development time away from our prospect goalies ??? Also, why put him in against the second nigjt of s back to back against the leagues best? With decisions like this, having 2 mil to the leagues biggest goon whi hasnt fought once, no true number kne d for over a decade and you people wonder why we cant get oast the first round. The problem is deeper than the " core four" for every great decision * stolarz" management makes, they make about four horrendous ones, Reaves, Kampf, not addressing the 3c position in the offseason, continuously giving Hollmberg ice time… Need I go one?!
