Indianapolis Colts Shane Steichen, Chris Ballard, Jim Irsay, players to blame! Focus on Steichen!

Shane Steichen talks about standards that are not met and need to be cleaned up. What are those standards, and why did previous cleanings not take?
IU Basketball decided Oumar Ballo should not play against Winthrop, and when asked why, Mike Woodson refused to discuss it. That refusal came despite our knowing exactly why Ballo was benched. Why do coaches refuse to tell the truth.

  1. The only way those can be "measured" is on Game Day! But, I don't believe anyone can read a tape in Indy. Zero accountability. Zero culture. Zero leadership. From the top-down this is a total Charlie Foxtrot!

  2. Ol boy up there saying not everyone is gonna be on time for meetings all the time lmfao. Right coach and thats why not every player is Gonna show up on time to play each Sunday either if at all. Exactly right. No standard. No results

  3. Shane’s interview yesterday just showed that he doesn’t get it. He’s not ready for the HC job and I’m a person who likes Shane. That interview pissed me off.

  4. Hello Kent. I'm 62 yrs old and have been a loyal Colts fan ever since coming to Indy, and I have to say I've never been as Disappointed and discussed and a little angry with this team and staff. Theirs no reason at all of these people letting this drag on for so long. Gus is the worst defensive coach I have ever witnessed., something drastic needs to happen.

  5. Focus on Ballard. Over paying offensive lineman, never solving the QB problem and not taking risks on free-agents is the reason Ballard is a failed GM.

  6. Happy New Year everyone! Let's make the Colts Great Again in 2025 with major shake up the CULTURE and MANAGEMENT(aka LEADERSHIP) !!! LET"S WIN AGAIN!!!!

  7. Best 2-bell Tuesday episode you've ever had. I've been in organizations that run on platitudes and those that run on measurables. Wins can happen with either. However, organizations that run on measurables hold people accountable and thus much more likely for sustained success. Look no further than Hank Baskett and Tyler Goodson. Baskett drops onside kick in SB XLIV, cut the next day. Goodson drops 4th down pass for division title and still kept on the team. Mediocrity has become the norm because it has been allowed.

  8. What Indy needs is to get rid of the drug addict owner. Flacco was great put up 33 points, and no defense. Where was the colt defense.Richardson can't stay on the field. Better sign Flacco.

  9. Indy needs to sell paper bags so their fans can put them over their heads so no one can see them. Manning sucked the NFL made him changing the rules for him and to keep the team in Indy. Cause the drunken owner was ready with mayflower to move them to Sacramento. You should not have a team.

  10. When I watched this video I decided, Kent, that if you should ever decide to make a career change you should become a professor at IU Business School. The more I hear from you and others lends credibility to the claim often made that the Colts are running a country club.

  11. Steichen: "These coaches and players have shown up every day and given the best they can."
NO. THEY HAVE NOT. If this were the case, they'd be in the playoffs.

Just watch: Players will play their collective asses off against the Jags, possibly, win, and, IF RETAINED, Ballard will bring many of the 22 back and run it back. THIS is the idiocy I believe has developed and fostered in this organization.

What needs to happen: Ballard – GONE, Bradley – GONE, Steichen – NO play-calling, D-Secondary Coach – GONE, Linebackers Coach – GONE, Anthony Richardson – GONE.

  12. Like I said im not even mad at the NY loss.
Its just the cherry on top of Ballards mediocre tenure as the colts GM.
Like we all gonna he happy if they beat the jags?
Were we supposed to be happy if they finished 9-8?
    No

  13. Steinchen's reponse sounds like the answer to a question in a college management class. You're right, Kent, there's no action. Football has MANY measurables and they are right there, easy to see! Let's start with W-L . . . So, Shane, you're measureables are poor. And you don't "clean up" with one game to go! 😆

  14. When the player from SF refused to enter the game and was suspended by management to keep him from joining another team, this channel reacted as though SF was appropriately holding that player accountable. I don't remember how the channel reacted a season ago when Taylor held out but a recent comment implying that Taylor's ankle injury at the time was feigned gives me a clue. I hold Taylor's conduct then – apparent breach of contract – as contributing to this team's cultural problems. If a player is allowed to breach a contract, my guess is players think anything is permitted. On the other hand, I suspect the the 49er's attended team meetings, keep appointments with trainers, and don't tap out during games.

  15. They've got the Colts as 5pt favorites against the Jags…🤦🏻‍♂️ Which usually means we'll lose by a cpl Tuddys, if this season's shown us anything. Mac Jones gonna look like Tom Brady against this Colts team. 😂 #CountOnLosingThisSeason is now back in full effect!! 🤬

  16. It doesn’t seem like Shane has the head coach attitude needed to be a head coach and it is showing. He’s a hell of a coordinator, but he just can’t manage an entire team, and hold everyone accountable in the way that you want him too.

  17. Yes, we should hold strangers to minimal standards. Obey the law, raise your kids, get a job, dress appropriately, don't swear in public especially with kids present, don't be rude to others, don't blast loud music that bothers the public…minimal civilized behavior is the standard for everyone.

  18. Great video. I’ve been thinking a lot about Jim Mora, and how much the team owes him even today. Mora was tough—retired Marine, didn’t let the players sit on their helmets or do anything slower than jog while on the practice field. He had STANDARDS. If people actually listened to the whole “Playoffs?!” press conference, they’dve heard him getting after the offense for all the turnovers, and putting the defense in bad position. No untouchables—just ask Peyton. And he stood up to Polian and quit rather than throw his DC (Vic Fangio) under the bus. He didn’t lead us to a championship. But in a lot of ways he set the table for the culture that Pat was talking about on Monday. Not sure he cares that much anymore but if he did, he’s probably just as disappointed as we are that the current brain trust is trying to move us back from being a serious franchise to the laughingstock we were when Mora got here. (And yes, I know Ted got us to the AFC Championship game before Jim got here. But clearly that wasn’t sustainable.)

  19. Get rid & replace the Gm & and coach and defense coach. It is the only hope the team and franchise have, then make sure the QB needs to know the rules & consequences if he doesn't get his act cleaned up or he too will be gone, follow through with consequences.

  20. Pre-watch thoughts: Tbh Shane is the only one I don’t want fired… I’m not super gung-ho about Chris being fired but if he was, I’m leaning towards Chris being fired but I wouldn’t really be all that upset if he wasn’t. I am however super gung-ho on Gus Bradley being fired and would be extremely upset if he isn’t. Shane is the only one I’d be upset about if he got fired, everyone else? They can clean house for all I care.

Post-watch thoughts: Honesty Kent, you made a lot really good points about Shane and it’s made much more concerned if Shane’s indeed got what it takes to get this organization to where we want it to be or not.

  21. From Indiana and moved to New Orleans in the early nineties. Rooting for the Saints, after the Colts of course, I remember watching Jim Mora in a press conference after a loss. He stated " We want to Win". I would hope so. Everybody "wants" to win. It is those that are afraid to lose who achieve real success. What a moron. Then we brought him to Indiana. Fail again. Glad to be back home. Just don't like hearing the ghost of Jim echoing in the halls of Colts nation.
