We need a veteran for the young guys
He could relive between 3rd and 1st
Season will be just as boring I am afraid of.
The way teams are paying his contract is really not bad but if he dont go then the roster is screwed because then Donovan has to play left then Nootbaar is either playing center or no where but there is more value in Fedde Helsley
Arenado will end up going to the angels, the cards will pay 25 million, cards will get a low level lottery ticket. And that will be the end of the goldenado experiment.
Did JD actually suggest the brewers or Cubs would maybe be interested in Goldy?😂
This off-season is shaking out the way I saw it going in October: Boring. They seemed to be wanting to concentrate on fixing the org first, and I applauded that. That's what they are concentrating on I still do applaud that decision. It HAD to be done. Just rip the band-aid off and get it done and over with. It means a boring off-season for us, and a .500 season (at best) next year, but things should start looking better in '26 and I hope they start looking like contenders again in '27.
If they want to get rid of Arenado they are going to have to give him away what a shame!!!!
Im a astro fan i like your show i watch cause i do think the cards have talent there just need to lose ur gm i dont think he relises what he is doing
Dewitt is seeing the signs of the coming economy crash. Trying to reduce expenses.
He's to old has diminishing skills and is owed way to much money. His contract is a boat anchor for all the teams he approves for a trade. The Dodgers need to pass on him.
pretty sure Cards have a tv deal
Why yes. Yes we are. Still want to move on with Gorman. I’d tell Arenado that the best he can expect here is 3rd string 3B. Perhaps that will help motivate him to move. Thinking we’ll be better without him.
I think if other team pay about 10m a year for him, then might have a deal, with a small prospect
Just do what Cubs did in 2021. Pay most of Arenado’s contract which you can, and get as good a prospect as possible for him. Then trade all the aging high price players, even with paying to get rid of them.
The worst retooling/rebuilding is go half way! Never will work!
Getting rid of Helsley when you have starters that can't go more than 5 or 6 innings is not a good idea!!
Hey JD;
It appears Arenado may have a hard time getting traded to a team he would waive his no trade contract for.
It will be interesting to see how the Cards play that Card if they can’t find a match for him.
It’s kind of a sad situation for Arenado. However it turns out I hope the best for him!
JD; I wish you a a happy holiday tomorrow and a “Happy New Year!!
I’ll be looking forward to watching “LOC” in 2025!
God bless you and keep you!
i HAVE HAD SOME TIME NOW TO REFLECT ON THE nOLAN aRENADO ISSUE OF BEING TRADED. i STILL MAINTAIN THAT WE DON'T GET IN A HURRY. if HE DOES GET BETTER IN 2025, THAT'S APLUS FOR US GOING INOT THE TRADE DEADLINE. IF WE STILL WANT TO TRADE HIM. TAHT is A PLUS FOR him, TOO. tO ME,T HAT'S A WIN-WIN SITUATON. eVEN if HE DOES WALK AWAY IN HIS FREE AGENT YEAR, AND WE GET NOTHING IN RETURN, HOW MUCH OF ALOSS IS THAT? WE'VE GOT OPTIONS FOR 3RD BASE THAT "sHOW prOMISE". mY HUMBLE OPIONION IS TO SEE WHAT HE DOES INT EH BEGINNING OF 2025 AND WORK IT FROMT EHRE. if SOMEONE HAD WNATED HIM BY NOW, HE'D BE gone. IN SHORT,, i THINK WAITING UNTIL TEHTRADING DEADLINE IN NEXYEAR'S SEASON IS THE SMAR MOVE. AT THIS POINT.
Why are the Cards trying to get rid of every player that makes more than a plumber? Fedde didn't cost anything. Why would they dump the best closer in the game? They are one of the most popular teams. They sell lots of tickets and merchandise. Ownership has plenty of money. Why are the Cards hell bent on being as cheap and bad as the A's? I ask this in all sincerity. Why don't they want to win? As we've seen in recent years, that is what they have seemed to want.
I guess my question is why don't the Cards want to win?
For the Cardinals to trade Arenado and to pay for most of his salary is absurd. He is still a draw even though his offensive numbers have went down. He is still the best defensive 3rd baseman in the game today. He still draws the value of fan attention and that is "Butts in the Stands". Which is MONEY for the franchise. I think the Cards should trade him but not for nothing, they should hang tough and be prepared to keep him. It won't hurt the franchise to keep him.
Just got to say, your "In Stream" advertisements, annoy the hell out of me, but I understand why you do it, can you cut down the time that you give them by a little bit. I am just someone that will never use any of those you advertise for.

The Yankees are not in on Arenado they never really were.
That's pretty sad when you say it sucks the Cardinals didn't trade one of the best third baseman's ever to play the game. He hit for a better average and had more hits than the current top free agent for the position. He was only a couple RBIs short of the current top free agent for that position. He's due for a comeback. What's best for the Cardinals is for them to keep him. By the time they pay down his contract for another team he's a very affordable player with a massive upside. And let's not forget we have absolutely nobody to replace him a third. Unless you're wanting a guy that's going to strike out over 200 times and can't hit over 200 batting average if you consider that a replacement I don't.
Do you really think replacing Arenado with Nolan Gorman is an upgrade? Really?
