The jiricek draft was really just a gamble. He was top 10 in a lot of people’s mind maybe pushing around 5 if he didn’t blow his knee out. Because he has to put a lot of weight on to his frame and hope to not reinjure the knee over the next few years, that’s why he was available. The blues were already loaded in surefire middle prospects, with a couple top end potential, they needed/wanted to take a risk on a top end defensemen. If it all hits it’s the glory years. If it doesn’t, not a big deal.
Our picks have looked good. I got chills when Rivers said Dvorsky will be in a Blues uniform before the end of the season!
