They won't get Sasaki so going after Flaherty is the right thing to do
Why not both Bregman AND Santander?
Love the speculations, however, they never come to fruition.
Exciting possibilities.
No Mize
This is what's happening Cheapskate Illtich, and Harris don't want to spend money in Skubul's last two years.
We are being played. Mgt will say they tried to sign big name talent and hope for a pass. They are not trying to get better. Harris will take the blame but this is all ownership.
Resigning Jack Flahrety would be smart leaving one rotation spot to be won while signing Bregman will be hard.
Why is the option for 3B Bregman or Vierling? Why isn't Jace Jung in this conversation?
Post season in Detroit…yawn
Greed in MLB shows from time to time, the money that Alonso passed up in NY and Bregman in Houston is stunning, Alonso is just a hitter and Bregmen isnt aging well, both are greedy as hell to the point of stupidity. The all timer greedy dumdum was Jaun Gonzalez who said no to Tigers 140 million and signed for 10 million one year.,not to frkn bright folks.
What's the deal with Matt Manning? Every time that he's been given a chance, it seems as though he always comes through for Detroit.
I wouldn't mind bringing Flaherty back!!! he got his ring, He's got nothing left to prove at that point. Bring him back, he was solid for us in the pitching rotation.
“Ball go boom though” 😭
Get me Flaherty!
I have zero faith that Pizza Boy will spend the necessary monies to obtain any meaningful Free Agents, or to extend Skubal.
I think last years success has Pizza Boy thinking that we can catch lightning in a bottle with minimal expenditure on his behalf.
Baseball fans know this is not a recipe for sustained success in MLB.
1 year, 15M or less has been the mantra for any signings; Harris has his hands tied.
We were told that when the time occurred to spend, Pizza Boy would cough it up; he just never said HOW MUCH (or Little).
so the tigers spent 15 million on a pitcher that is going to be 38 years old this season and pitched, as a starter, 16 total innings last year and was set to retire?? Michael Lorenzen has a better WHIP and is 33 years old and a very good athlete evidently. He signs for 1 year 7 million with a division foe with a mutual 12 million option for year 2?? Half the money for a likely better pitcher, even though its a toss up, it's half the money. why on earth did the Tigers let Hyeseong Kim sign for 3 years/4 million per year with the Dodgers? Would he not have signed with the Tigers for 3 years/15 million??? would that not have been money better spent than 1 year of Alex Cobb?? we could have signed Lorenzen AND Kim AND saved 3 million in payroll. More questionable moves by Harris starting with the Ed Rodriguez total blunder snafu. If we have unlimited payroll fine sign Alex Cobb but he's coming off a 2 year/10 million aav contract that he under-performed based on the fact he didn't even play baseball for half the contract. plus he's 2 years older. Wouldn't that constitute a contract similar to the one Lorenzen signed?? I don't care about the money unless it's preventing the Tigers from adding additional talent that would help this team down the road, which at this point, it obviously is….
