Yankees fan here. This was one of the reasons why Red Sox was also very in on Soto during this off season. They wanted to sign Soto and get Guerrero Jr the following year to recreate the reincarnation of the Ortiz/ Ramirez Dominican-Red Sox era. Clearly The Mets has a chance to do exactly that, except in NYC. GO FOR IT, I actually want to see that happen. It would be great for baseball (and another NL team to truly match The Dodgers) and for New York City. The Yankees will just pivot to other good players like Tucker LOL😂. However, just an advice, you need PITCHING to match The Dodgers and you don't have that. Should have signed Burnes Steve Cohens🤷♂

I can promise you met fans..here is the scenario. The Jays spent millions on upgrades on restructuring the Rogers centre last year. I promise you….if you think there going to sell these upgrades without Vladdy your just as nuts as the guy that made this garbage up. Vladdy is worth more at the trade deadline…not in the off season. The problem isn't what Alonso wants, it's the stupid market. Everyone is over paid period. I want one of these Mets "fans" schmucks work for a company for many years and be okay with some new guy making more because of hype. ( DeGrom, Scherzer). The whole thing is ridiculous and while you work your ass off to put food on the table, Soto makes $34 a second. People are dumb. I love the game of baseball but the whole thing is getting out of hand.

This is NOT HAPPENING! This is the Mets trying to scare Alonso back to the table. Stearns does not believe in trading his top prospects for a 1-year rental and as far as a sign-&-trade that is NOT HAPPENING either. I believe beyond Alonso and perhaps picking up Bregman, the Mets are done (not counting wherever Sasaki decides to chose). Stearns is NOT AN ALL-OUT EXECUTIVE. He is patient and moves pieces along to improve along a multi-year plan…I love this about Stearns! He is a FAN, but he understands that banking all your cards on a 1-Year window rarely works. You need to build a farm, system, and a well-oiled organization build around winning. I ask Mets fans TO RELAX….they are A REALLY GOOD TEAM….they HAVE A TOP 10 FARM SYSTEM that has MANY options coming up ready to make a difference. Pete Alonso should not be put out to market. After bowing at the throne of Soto, Met upper crust should lean into Alonso a little more faithfully to the ORGANIZATIONS creme of the FARM product. Soto may turn out to be the sour in ORGANIZATIONS committment its FARM products.
Cohen and Stearns need to keep the investment in the FARM fresh and motivated. Pete is a product of the FARM ORGANIZATION.

I'm not thinking that the Mets view Guerrero as a good third baseman, with his size, he's probably not athletic enuff, where Vientos has more of the "body type" for 3B, as a result I don't think the Mets wants to spend 500M on a DH, so if Alonso signs then NO, if Alonso doesn't sign than it's a possibility, what are your thoughts???
