[Daugherty, Tennessean] Spencer Stastney addresses training camp absence, return to Nashville Predators

TLDR: Stastney isn’t really going into details but it seems to have been a mental health related issue.
>”I (began skating again) once I was back in Milwaukee,” Stastney said. “I took some time off (from skating) over the summer. (Predators development coach Mark Borowiecki) came down to Milwaukee and helped me out one-one-one, which was huge. I spent a lot of time with (team psychologist Vickie Woosley) and people like that in the organization.”
>When asked about the timing of his absence, Stastney mentioned it was a sudden development while working through some things over the summer.
>”It’s taken some time to figure things out, but it came kind of last minute. I knew where I was at mentally, I’m just happy to be better now.”
Hopefully this is the last time Stasney has to talk about this. Barring criminal charges or a breach of contract, off ice issues are not the Tennessean’s or any of our business.
Boro Cop has been such a stud for the organization. Hearing this from Stastney and from Connor Ingram a few years back. Lucky to have him around.
