Justin Verlander has signed a one-year, $15 million deal with the San Francisco Giants, marking a new chapter as he aims to bolster the team’s rotation with his experience, despite coming off a challenging season with a 5.48 ERA. Amed Rosario, on the other hand, has joined the Washington Nationals on a one-year contract, providing infield flexibility after stints with the Guardians, Dodgers, and Rays. Meanwhile, Martín Pérez, known for his innings-eating capabilities, has signed with the Chicago White Sox, aiming to stabilize their pitching staff after splitting last season between the Pirates and Padres. Bobby Dalbec has inked a minor league deal with the White Sox after spending five seasons with the Red Sox system, looking to make an impact at first base or third. Concurrently, the San Diego Padres are embroiled in a legal battle, which is largely financial, related to the management’s approach under the Seidler brothers, who are adopting a more conservative spending strategy to manage the team’s payroll amidst MLB’s revenue sharing and competitive balance tax considerations. Steel Seidler is trying to stop that from happening, as she wants to complete Peter’s dream of keeping baseball in San Diego, and building a competitive team 📝

  1. Here, HERE on the Padres’ baseball IN San Diego!!! I love that stadium and I know lots of people who would be extremely HEART BROKEN if the team was relocated. Hope that whole drama works out safely for everyone.

  2. All the Padres stuff is interesting. My favorite team by far and although the situation seems very crazy I think it’s just best to wait it out. Some of the “leaked” or alleged documents talked about sheel and racism due to Indian ethnicity which I hope isn’t true since her children are also partially ethnically Indian and I don’t think think it would make much sense. Team relocation wouldn’t make much sense either even from a business perspective and it feels a little fear mongery. It’s sucks since we lost players like Higashioka and who knows about Sasaki. It’s overall just best to wait it out since I don’t think the brothers have posted a statement just yet and the full context isn’t known.

  3. My random fav was weirdly Sammy Sosa. Barely watched baseball. Wasn't a huge fan as a kid, so I have no clue why, as a Phillies family, that I liked Sammy Sosa. I think I just liked his name

  4. I m In LA rite in the middle of the freaking 🔥 born and raised and nothing comes close to what's happening right now. Unreal, it's just not the Palisades fire there's like 4 to 5 active fires, and the kicker we lost powers for over 48 hours

  5. I never understood why San Diego teams in general have trouble signing marquee players. San Diego is beautiful. And close to L A if like the night life. It always must boil down to horrible run teams.

  6. Doesn't matter.
Padres didn't win when they had there "dream team"
Juan Soto left so he got the blame 😂
Everyone knows the laat guy who quit or got fired is to blame.

  7. Perez was great for the Padres, but not $8m great. Also, Padres offered King less than the White Sox paid Martin Perez so that King ends up being the first Padres player to go to arbitration since 2014.
