  1. Extend Crochet and FSG can rebuild the narrative that they’ll invest in the team. I have no issue not paying 30+ year old pitchers to long term contracts and instead building the farm system and trading prospects for elite pitching in the 20s. But you have to invest in the talent once you get it.

  5. Crochet extension solidifies the narrative FSG will pay for young talent. Raffy and Crochet are both young. Kennedy today admitted they fucked up Mookie and Xander talks and doesn’t seem too keen on making the same mistakes. We could afford to pay crochet AND a Fried, but I’m happy we at least see a coherent strategy this year vs the past few years of shenanigans

  7. Priority #1. The remaining free agents have nowhere near the potential that our potential extensions have. The wisest way we can spend right now is extending Crochet and Houck, and perhaps even Casas or Duran. All 4 of those guys are under 30, too.
