HC rankings:

  1. Mike Vrabel- probably going to NE, but the best choice
  2. Brian Flores- tough, no nonsense guy, something Jets need after buddy-buddy Saleh.
  3. Aaron Glenn- most likely candidate to be hired by Jets, has told people he's "very interested" in Jets job.

GM rankings:

  1. Mike Borgnozi- KC assistant GM in organization for 16 years.
  2. Mike Greenberg- TB assistant GM, 15 years in org. Salary cap expert.
  3. Jon Robinson- former TEN GM, pair with Vrabel.
  4. Ryan Grigson- former IND GM, pair with Flores.

Who I would hire as Jets GM/HC: A. Vrabel/Robinson B. Flores/Grigson with Josh McCown as OC. Who I think Jets hire: Aaron Glenn/Borgnozi or Greenberg

  1. Remove Vrabel, he’s gone. Otherwise agree with HC. I would put Dimitroff at the top of GM and remove Grigson. Much as I like Flores, if it means Grigson too, then no thanks. That guy is beyond awful

  2. I would def consider Glenn/Borgnozi, but also Glenn/Spielman

    Don’t count him out.

  3. After years of inept offense, I can’t rank Flores anywhere on my list after the Fitzpatrick (and Tua) stories. I would have to understand his lessons learned and offensive staff plans (which we don’t have info on) to even get me thinking it could work this time around.

I never thought Vrabel was an option if there was a positive relationship with the owner (and son) remaining in NE.

I’m sold on Glenn (wasn’t originally). I like the former scout, former player, ability to relate, and his willingness to adjust his play calling. He’s not perfect, but I can see how it could work.

  4. Glenn has moved to the top of my rankings. Simply because he wants the Jets. These other candidates outside of Rex you really have to wonder their motives and intentions with the Jets job besides it being 1/32. I want someone who can embrace what we are a dumpster fire and create a new culture from it.

  5. Is there any feedback about which coaches and GM candidates are STILL INTERESTED in the job?

Interviews work both ways, a person also gets a look at the comp package and the environment that they will be working in. They also get to present their preconditions for the job, they would like to have (i.e. no interference from ownership, no children in the locker room).

  6. GM rankings are nice but no one really knows how impactful these guys were so it’s all for naught.

Gimme one of Glenn, Monken, Coen I think. But really anyone but Rex, Rivera, Spags, and coaches in that vein.

  7. I’m surprised Brian Flores would want to be near MetLife after the whole thing with the Giants. Different organizations, staff, FO, etc of course but I don’t know. Just feel like you’d wanna keep yourself far away from them in general.

But I suppose the Jets do have a better track record employing/playing Black (PoC in general) coaches, QBs, etc. so maybe that can mean something to him.

All that aside, I do like Flores, and it probably would help to get a guy from Brooklyn, NY in the building. Already knows what to expect from NY media and fans. He would probably understand that NY just wants something competent. Also I think he did a pretty good job in Miami despite ownership wanting him to tank. He has some scouting experience with the Patriots from 04-07, shit, general all-around experience with the Patriots for years, so I’m sure he can find strong talent on the defensive side and special teams side.

Then of course you have Aaron Glenn who’s literally a Jets legend. So you know he already understands what it means to be a Jet, and he actually gives a fuck. Which is the number one thing to me when hiring a coach or GM. Ya gotta get guys who give a damn about the team and its history because it’ll also be their reputation involved when they get the job. That aside, he did an excellent job with the Saints defense from 2016-2020, multiple deep playoff runs in that time. We already see his work as the DC with Detroit.

Honestly I have no qualms with either of these guys getting the job, I like em both. If there was a way to get em both on the coaching staff I’d be ecstatic, but realistically, both of them deserve a HC job somewhere instead of just coordinator.

  8. HC – McCown or Glenn. McCown if good would bring stability to an offensive scheme. Would be valuable when we eventually get our young WB. Glenn seems to be good. I
Vrabel is clearly not an option unless Kraft really f’s it up.

GM – not Grigson. Who knows really on the rest. Are they products of others around them or are they that important.

  9. I like Glenn but he gives me Robert Saleh vibes. I would need to see what his plan is for the offense because I cannot handle another guy that focuses primarily on the defense while he lets poor ocs handle the offense. I still think he is probably the best coach we can realistically get though.

  10. I think Jon-Eric Sullivan should be high on the GM list. We should really be tapping into the Packers front office. They have a high quality Front office and scouting structure, especially when it comes to drafting OL and WRs outside of the 1st round.

  11. I’m only in on Flores if Uncle Josh is his OC. Yea, partially for the glorious memes and spicy fan fics, but it’s also very telling if Flores has learned his lessons from Miami. Idk someone like McCown would hitch his wagon to someone he doesn’t respect and thinks is a pos. He knows he’ll get his shot in the NFL soon so idt he’d risk getting sucked into Flores’ bullshit.
