Week 2 Vs the Malik Willis Packers: 9-8(we’d have made the playoffs)
The 2 Houston games were lost by a combined 7 points: 11-6( we win the division).
Jags in JAX: 12-5( we are the 3 seed).
Giants game: 13-4( 3 seed behind BUF on Tiebreaker).
We had no real shot Vs the Lions. Or the Vikings. Or really the Bills, even though that was close.
So the last winnable loss is the Broncos loss: 14-3.
It sounds delusional but with abiver average QB play and a slightly better defensive performance Vs the Giants and Jags, Taylor NOT dropping the ball, 14-3 isn’t too far away based on the schedule.
Obviously we know the horrific culture, Richardson AND Flacco being TO machines, our defense not showing up when matters all DID happen.
But when you look at the 9 games we lost. Only 3 were to teams that were oit of our league, the Vikings, the Bills and the Lions, who are all SB contenders.
It was a weak schedule.
A better coached, better QBed team with our talent level could have fluked a 14-3 season actually.
A deeper dive into the nature of our losses shows how much a good QB and culture, or lack of one really hurts a team.
