[Pryor] T.J. Watt, eligible for a contract extension this summer, says he doesn’t want to play anywhere else: “I want to be a Pittsburgh Steeler. I don’t want to leave this place … I want to be part of the solution, not leave here and go somewhere else. That’s not my intention at all.”

  1. Hall of fame player completely wasted with mike tomlin as a coach. Get ready for more double teams and chips all of next season tj because mike isn’t going to scheme you to have 1 on 1 opportunities, or give you any help with his boring ass outdated scheme. 

  2. I mean, as a fan of the team I appreciate it but I’d already have my house on the market.

  3. Were you expecting him to say he hates it here and wants traded to a Super Bowl contender?

  4. TJ took a step back this year and couldn’t make big plays in big moments with the frequency that he could before. You pay a TJ Watt to get you off the field on 3rd down and we didn’t do that the second half of the season. Painful as it is I would not throw new money at TJ.

  6. I love TJ but TJ disappeared this season. The final two games he didn’t register a single anything. His name isn’t on the stat sheet. How in the world does that happen?

  7. It just sucks cause idk if that’s even what’s best for the team anymore. This season really just took any last little bit of joy that I had for Steelers football away.

  8. TJ rules and this attitude rules. All you fans wishing him or any other solid player to leave for their own good can kick rocks.

  9. Thank god, but I gotta be honest, if I’m TJ, I’m not 100% going to resign. If they make some dramatic changes to the coaching staff (just coordinators, I know they won’t get rid of Tomlin) that show they want to change things up for next year, then yeah, I’m sure TJ wants to say. But if looks like it’s going to be business as usual, I think I’d probably have to go somewhere else, like Detroit, so he can not only win his first ever playoff game, but actually have a legit shot at winning the Super Bowl.

    Is the general consensus that even if we drop a ton of $$$ in off season to sign some of the hottest free agents, the team is still doomed because of tomlin and the other coaches?

    We could sign the number 1 hottest free agent QB, RB, TE, and WR and it still wouldn’t really matter. Is that the idea?

  12. Wouldn’t have blamed him if he chased a ring at this point. He has legacy to consider.

    That said he’s one of my favorite Steelers ever and I’m glad he’s staying.
