How Texas Rangers missing out on Roki Sasaki will impact long-term rotation plans

The Texas Rangers are not among the finalists to sign Japanese star pitcher Roki Sasaki. The Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres and the Toronto Blue Jays were told they were the three finalists to land Sasaki.

Roki Sasaki said he wanted a winning team, yet the Padres and Blue Jays have not made it to a World Series this century. The Dodgers have been the favorites to sign Sasaki since before he was posted and the process seems to have been unnecessary with these three finalists.

The Rangers won a championship in 2023, boast one of the greatest managers in MLB history, elite player facilities, great MLB pitchers to help guide Sasaki and a young core of great position players in Wyatt Langford, Evan Carter and Josh Jung.

  2. I dont care that we dont get him, felt it was unlikely, Blue Jays would be fine, Padres would be fun,

    But if hes a dodger… Im booing him whenever he is on the mound in Arlington. Ill be a professional hater

  4. It's gonna be interesting what the rangers do for a closer . I would like a trade for helsley to solify their bullpen . Otherwise alot of save opportunities could end up as losses never thought Sasaki was coming here
