  1. I have a strangely good feeling about this game. I don’t know that the Wings will win it necessarily, but I think they’ll come out swinging after getting caught coasting by the Sharks.

  2. As a die-hard Red Wings fan who grew up in the Midwest and currently lives in Central Florida, I love that we have hockey down here. I love that its growing and spreading throughout Florida in various forms and is picking up in popularity.

    That said, Fuck the Florida teams, let’s play some fucking hockey!

We head back to the state of Florida just like [Scott Wheeler’s Prospect Pool Rankings](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5919859/2025/01/08/nhl-prospects-rankings-2025?source=user-shared-article). With the release of TBL, it’s only BUF, MTL, and us that remain from the Atlantic , and I’m guessing we’re all top 10.

    We’ll continue to see one team a day through Feb 7th. I’ll do a snarky oversimplification here, but please read Scott’s wonderfully detailed writeups linked throughout.

    Scott’s criteria in comments. Read that before complaining. Brackets w/each team is delta since last year’s rankings. Scott doesn’t actually do tiers, that’s just me having fun.

Lots of “pro qualities” and “good worth ethic” comments for the fringe NHLers making up the majority of their pool..

Jesse Pullkinen is a massive 20yo human being, though. Biggest ranking jump from 2023 so far, which doesn’t say much since they were worst last year.

  15. Anyone else notice the lack of shots on net from the point? A lot of shots are going waaaaaay wide or get blocked. I have no evidence to back this up but it feels like the wings are at the bottom of the league in tipped/deflected goals

  17. This road trip probably decides if we are a playoff team or not…need at least 4-5/8 points given how hard of a schedule we have moving forward and how tight it is in the standings rounds us

  24. I loved seeing Todd call out Holl in the presser. He did it in a great way where he didn’t sugar coat it, but also didn’t totally throw him under the bus.

  31. I like the jersey’s, but I definitely agree that I think we could’ve done a color vs color game here and the wings jersey’s would’ve turned out really good.

  33. So they took the normal away jersey, swapped the winged wheel with “Detroit” and made the white go further down the shoulder/upper arm sleeves (thus making the numbers there red instead of white) , and then called it a day?
