  1. I would love if they resign Santander to a shorter deal! Especialy if it results in the Os being able to offer up another good piece in trade for a top of the rotation pitcher. (Not getting my hopes up though. You never know what can happen)

  2. Roansy was ok the first few starts in 2023. A couple of months into the season, his velocity fell off a cliff. He could get the four seamer up to 98-99 mph at times before. Slider was the plus pitch when he was called up in 2022- sometimes unhittable. By July 2023, he was maxing out at 93 mph. Not clear what happened, but it’s probably safe to assume the organization ruined him. They sent him to the complex league, as well as outside the organization pitching facilities. Just couldn’t figure out what the problem was, but the slider was a lot less effective after the velocity disappeared. Batters just sat on the four seamer, as he couldn’t throw it past anyone with decent bat speed. He seems like a really good dude (humble, thoughtful, hardworking), and I hope he can find that velocity again. He was a marvel in the minors and his call up in late 2022.

  3. They "see an issue" with Hoffman but will bring Means back again after three injuries and TWO tommy johns?? And Means didn't throw that hard to begin with.
Still no TOR pitcher, one month out from spring training.

  4. Os should definitely bring back Santander if they could. Him and O’Neill in the lineup would be huge. I would love for them to re-sign Means too. All potential upside, low risk. But number one need still is landing a SP1 or 2.

  5. I like Cease, but he’s another Boras client. Doesn’t make sense to me to pursue another guy we’ve a limited chance to extend going into FA..
Lopez hasn’t looked like an ace the last couple years imo. Neither has Luis Castillo. I think they’ll go into the season with depth in the starting and backend of the rotation and see what’s needed at the deadline

  6. Love the idea of bringing Taters back on a short deal. Helps us win next year but frees up money when it's time to make a run at signing Adley and Gunner. Means is a no brainer low risk move. Just hope we dont give up too much for a rent a pitcher like Cease. While not as good, I'd rather get 3 years out of Castillo. Or if you trade from the top prospects, i hope it is for someone with more years control. One of the Mariners or Pirates young studs.

  7. Why can't we trade any of our young talent to get what we know we need now? We lost two really promising years of going to WS because of inexperience, right? We need some veteran presence- including Anthony! Sign him for a shorter deal then free up the money for Gunnar and Adley.
