  1. A thought and comment for David Stearns. My comment:
I'm very much pleased with the job that Stearns has been doing this far, especially with regards to his selections for reclamation players. However, one tool I think he might add to his negotiating arsenal would be to use incentive based short term AAV contracts, for instance in the Pete Alonzo long term negotians:

He could have offered Pete a short term AAV contracts with included performance bonuses such as; an extra $ 2.5 million dollar bonus for reaching 35-40 home runs, an extra $2 me llion dollar bonus for achieving a batting average ranging between 265-280, and extra $1 million dollar bonus for increased slugging percentage.

Such incentives would put the onus on Pete to exhibit better plate performance and discipline whereas his failure to do so would be only make Pete accountable to help himself. Such contract are used for PICTHERS, why not ad this medium for other players making themselves responsible for bed ng paid for their pay? With the current contracting venue, their is really no incentive for players to maintain or surpass current levels of performance!

  2. For all you fake met fans complaining about. Let’s get something clear. 2024 we got where we got without any of them. Whatever we get now is to boost what we already have. There’s a plan for a reason. All of us are clueless as to what are the moves but rest assure we will kick butt either way. Believe in your team.

  3. This dude is not a bum. However he also IS NOT TANNER SCOTT!!! Why can’t we get the very best instead of the Second best outside of Soto!!! If Soto could go back in time after seeing this Stearns operation in full effect he’d have signed with the Yankees and I wouldn’t blame him!!!

  5. There's a big differerence between MINTER and TANNER SCOTT. It's like comparing heaven (TANNER SCOTT) and MNTER (,DUSTY EARTH) because of CHEAPSKATE MINI MARKET STEARNS and his MINI MARKET /MONEY BALL PHILOSOPHY.

  6. I’m as big a Mets fan as there is. Yet I am disgusted by this Freddy Coupon ownership!!! Yeah. I know Soto was signed with the largest sports contract ever! Still don’t like this Stearns dudes smirking looks. Like I’m the smartest man on earth!! Anybody seen who The Dodgers have added since winning the World Series? We are not good enough to win the NL East!!!

  7. Great signing. Was good against us and we take him from the team we hate the most, Mets fans that have negative things to say. Go root for the Skankees then.

  8. The same crap from CHEAPSKATE MINI MARKET STEARNS. THE TROUBLING SITUATION IS THAT METS' FANS WILL HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THIS SAME BS FROM STEARNS UNTIL HIS CONYRACT IS OVER. HOLY PURGATORY, BATMAN.!

  9. How's it going Wardy? 59 year old disabled dude who's been watching your content for the last couple years or so. I'd like to take a moment, (as my first ever comment) to thank you for all the work that you do and the excellent, knowledgeable content you share with us fellow Mets fans. I understand that there's a considerable amount of work that goes on behind the scenes. Know that you are appreciated and you bring a smile to this life-long Mets fan, whenever you share your content. I'm fairly certain that I speak for the whole gang. Keep doing what you do, my friend. You do it well and I sincerely hope that another door or a window opens up for you, so that you can share your voice to ALL Mets fans. Not just within the confines of your channel. God Bless you and your family, Sir. Keep up the good work.

  10. Stearns is doing a horrible job. Can’t wait until we don’t make the playoffs next fall!!! I’m praying that The Mets finish 20 games below 500! Yates is a pipe dream!!!

  11. Pete! Please come back, Pete! You’re the Polar Bear, we need you! He’s still one of the biggest power threats in Major League Baseball! You can’t just easily replace that kind of production, we need him back! Come back, Pete!

  12. Mets fans seem to forget if it wasn't for that home run from Alonso. There will be no Soto had an incredible run and this new regime is trying to build a sustainable winner for years not just today have a little faith. This ain't the Yankees buying everybody and not winning

  13. If the Mets don't draw a hard line in sand. Boras clients are gonna try and run wild. Using the Mets to bring up prices. The new regime are smart. Not letting boras dictate numbers

  14. Wardy you got so many Stearns haters in your comments these days 😂 calling him cheap when he just signed the biggest contract in history. It’s like the guy didn’t build a team that got to the CS last year with the same exact type of moves

  15. Stearns has proven he’s much smarter than any of us. I completely trust his judgement he hit time after time last year. Did we forget all the low level moves he made that paid off?

  16. Not a bad pickup if he stays healthy. At least we have a decent starting 5 developing here. Way better than last years 5 in my opinion and wasaay better than signing two veterans (scherzer verlander) that got injured in the first month of the season.

  17. Great signing, but the Mets really need to make at least two more big signings while giving this Alonso situation we have going on. Dodgers just signed Sasaki and as of now it looks like back to back championships for those guy if we don’t make moves asap.

  18. I think sterns will only Pay Generational Talent What there Worth “Good Players” Hes Not Breaking the bank for at all and its clear as day

  19. What happened to still spending after getting Soto seems like we on a budget now if vladdy isn’t the plan next year we’re screwed especially with Roki signing with the Dodgers. If we can’t properly built this roster out then overpaying Soto was a dumb move

  20. I’ve been tuning into your show for the past few weeks and enjoying your commentary. I like this move, however we need to sign Pete , this situation reminds me of loosing Seaver and Strawberry. Sign Pete
