  2. Moneyball is BS. At least the fan fantasy of it. You don't win with just the analytics crap from the movie. It's about having a quality farm system, using analytics, and spending some money. The only "moneyball" team to win was the Red Sox, but they were also top 2 or 1 in payroll when they finally won. As much as I hate them, the Dodgers do it right. Perennial playoff team, perennial top 10 farm system. Yes, truckloads of money, but the organization is run well and the fam is top notch. That's the goal to me. If the Padres are at 70% or 80% of the Dodgers spending and do the other two parts they will be in the playoffs and have chances to win the WS.

    Also, just think if the A's spent money consistently when Zito and the gang were there and kept them together.

  3. Losing Roki Sasaki to the Dodgers shows that there is a glaring need for a salary cap in MLB simiiar to the NFL and NBA. There needs to be a way to level the playing field with the Dodgers and the current system won't work in the long term. I doubt the MLBPA will go for this but changes are needed. This could be a topic for an entire show or a crossover episode.
