Celtics fan that lives abroad and watches replay of games here. I think Rathbun and Wilkins are the best commentators.
They’re pleasant to listen to and Rathbun’s great with his oohs and aahs. I also think the Hawks are killers. Trae must have been a ballerina or sumin beautiful like that in another life.

As a longtime Atlanta fan of all local teams, I’d argue this pairing is as good and likeable as any of the great Braves broadcast crews over the years, yet sadly not as widely recognized for it.
They are both damned good at their respective roles, they have great chemistry on-air, and they have just the right balance of openly rooting for the home team, yet also calling things in a very fair and realistic manner. And when you consider how they had to suffer through some really lean years, it’s nice to see them get to call some big wins for a change.
I love Trae, Jalen, Dyson, Bogey, Hunt, OO, Cap, Zac, Gary, Quin, Nique, and the rest of the team… But if there’s no Bob, my night is ruined. 🐐
I just wish would stop jinxing the Hawks with his “dagger” declarations.
Listening to other broadcasts, every single one only speaks highly of Bob. Especially the older announcers in the league, they really call him “a wonderful person as well as announcer”
To me, Bob is the hawks (sadly the forrrr theeeeeeeeee is too but rip) and him & nique are a great duo
Bob is exceptional. He should do national games.
The Hawks should really hire a personal trainer and nutritionist for Bob, keep that man as healthy as long as possible.

I like Bob, and of course ‘Nique but I still miss Mike Glenn who used to be the color analyst before DW.
