Only mammoth and outlaws made it

Outlaws and mammoth appear to have made it further than Yeti’s, Blizzard, venom, and surprisingly even Utah hockey club had problems.
This makes my Mammoth heart happy.
> Earlier this month, the trademark for “Utah Yetis” was refused by the United States Patent and Trademark Office due to a “likelihood of confusion”
Preeeeeetty certain that I’d be able to tell the difference between a professional hockey organization and a thermos, but I guess that’s that.
Interesting read, thanks for sharing.
Very interesting read.
Kinda excited to hear that Mammoth and Outlaws have made it further in patent process. I think both of those could be cool. Id imagine with the mountain/snow theme we’ve got going on they’d lean towards mammoth.
I like the outlaws but I worry the league would force a softer branding rather then a cooler gunslinger type outlaw
LETS GO MAMMOTH!!!!! At this point they could take the name Utah Goof Balls and I would still love them. But I do think Mammoth has a nice ring to it and good call back to the cold of Utah and the mammoth found here in Utah.
Big if true
Mammoth has grown on me since the team moved here. It’s my favorite of the remaining options.
Finally an article with descriptions of the issues with each name rather than a vague tweet. Go Outlaws!

Oh man! I want Outlaws so bad! It is perfect for the sport and the state!
Mammoth! Mammoth! Mammoth!
Didn’t Armstrong say back in December the deadline to finalize branding was close? Would they willingly continue with the new branding if the trademark was denied?
Let’s go Outlaws!! Mammoth is also a really good runner up, I’m honestly not mad about either.
Such a shame about Yeti… Good thing there are better options! Outlaws and Mammoths would be great and are by far the best of the official options (mammoth singular is fine but weird, just add the “s”).
I still think they should open things up again. Trappers, Cannons, and Legion could all be great names with connection to hockey and Utah’s history.

I’ve been on the Outlaws bandwagon from day one.
