How Dan Snyder views Commanders’ title run from afar: ‘He … hates it’

  1. You know that scene in the first squid games where all the billionaires are in the betting room?

This is the vibe i get of the NFL ownership in general.

Snyder? I think he is the old guy from season two who brought in too much heat and now is playing the game.

I say all of this to say we need to move on. What he did was atrocious. I am highly skeptical that he isn’t the only owner. Just the only one we see.

Let’s move on and enjoy what is positive.

  2. We’re playing in the NFC championship tomorrow. This dickhead is the last thing I want to think about.

  3. Directly into my veins please. Petty or not, idgaf this man took the passion from this fanbase. I watched my father go from watching every Sunday excitedly to not watching football at all. FUCK DAN SNYDER.

  4. Salacious details here including how Snyder never wanted to sell (no surprise) and tried to make things as difficult as possible last second. Thankful he is finally gone, but this snake tried everything he could to hijack the deal, including claiming he was an alcoholic and that he doesn’t drink anymore.

    >Suddenly, the sale’s closing — a supposed formality — turned into an eleventh-hour drama, multiple sources with direct knowledge told ESPN. Snyder threatened to kill the deal by refusing to share his bank information, preventing Harris from wiring him the money. At 1 a.m. on July 21, Snyder and his wife were fielding phone calls from various executives and confidants, urging him to do what he’d pledged and let go of the team.

    >”I don’t want to do this,” Snyder told a confidant.

  5. We hate him. I wish we could just get rid of this crap name he stuck us with to rid this team of everything Snyder once and for all.

  6. Oh this is a good read if you hate Dan Snyder and love schadenfreude

    >Snyder’s outlook has evolved. There’s still anger, and he remains “in denial” about what led to his ouster, said a person close to his inner circle. But there’s also something else: “Sadness — for himself,” that person said. “It’s killing him. … It’s devastating for him.”

  7. I love this for him. He has functionally infinite wealth and he’s just sad, forever. And every time we win he gets more sad.

  8. This story is so wild. Up until the literal last minute he still wanted to blow it all up.

I was hoping this dude was sitting around being miserable. I’m glad that is really the case.

  9. Love that the Skins are good again immediately after Snyder is gone. Kinda feel like I did when the Nats unloaded Harper and then went on to win the World Series the next season.

  10. Bro this article is insane and Dan was acting like the biggest adult baby billionaire. I wonder who the source was? He literally said “no they’re mine” and didn’t wanna give over his bank account info so HoG could pay him for the team.

SOOOOOO GLAAAAD THIS GUY IS GOOOOOONE!

  11. This gives me so much joy. Its one thing to have this magical season, its the freakin cherry on top to know that Dan is miserable.

The worst owner in sports for decades, a big old pos, and now we all get to laugh at him forever.

You suck Dan. Choke on our success.

  12. I bought one of those “I survived the Dan Snyder Era” shirts, wore it to our first home game last year against Arizona. Big smiles, high fives all around. It was such a happy feeling. Good riddance.

  13. I can’t even imagine how furious people would have been if he killed the deal at the last minute

  14. Once again, we need to thank Joe Gibbs for saving the franchise. He was able to convince Snyder to close the deal at the last minute and got the sale across the finish line.

  15. Shout out Van Notta and Wickersham for putting the spotlight on Snyder through it all. Definitely played a part in him selling.

  16. I love it. I hope all his other endeavors fail. The dude was a shit businessman.

  17. There are very few people that I actually want to be miserable in life. Snyder is one of them.

This could not be happening to a worse person

  18. He wasn’t here when I became a fan and now he won’t be when I stop. I’ve already forgotten he was here.

  19. >Snyder’s outlook has evolved. There’s still anger, and he remains “in denial” about what led to his ouster, said a person close to his inner circle. But there’s also something else: “Sadness — for himself,” that person said. “It’s killing him. … It’s devastating for him.”

    Delicious

  20. Once again, Joe Gibbs saves this team. The first statue outside of that new stadium better be for that man.

  21. Dan living a new life in the UK is the exact type of shit I’d expect from him. Universally hated in the US, can’t sell his assets, so he leaves town. The indication throughout the article that he is interested in a Premier League club is a terrifying thought for any club’s supporters. Unlike the NFL’s communal model, the English pyramid is volatile. There’s no reward for being bad—you just get relegated.

The things I’d do to see Dan Snyder buy Tottenham Hotspur…they’re up for £3.75 bil Dan, pull the trigger!!

  22. I did work for Dan Snyder at his house in Bethesda. Met him several times. He is a terrible person. Like most ultra rich he thinks everyone is price gouging him. Did work also for Jack Kent Cooke. He was the same way.

Tanya on the other hand was very nice and friendly.

  23. Months later, Tad Brown, CEO of HBSE, told confidants, “We don’t get the Commanders if not for Joe Gibbs.”

  24. The absolute worst thing about Snyder selling the team was the fact he was able to stumble, eat shit, and land face first into 6 billion dollars while being the worst owner in all of sports in North America. No surprise to read he is a Trumper. I laughed out loud when I read he wants to own a premier league team, no fucking way that happens, right?

  25. That was a DEEPLY satisfying read. I hate to say that I take pleasure in anyone’s sadness…. But in this case…

Love that his movie about Trump backfired. Lol. Gotta watch it.

Dan Snyder is a prime example of someone exuding “the worst” behaviors the ultra-rich has to offer. Abusive. Greedy. Thoughtless. Self-centered. Entitled. Petulant. Sexist. Racist. Mean. Vengeful….Small.

He may be rich. But he’s poor in every way that truly matters.
