  5. It’s a catch-22 situation. Other teams don’t want Stroman at his current salary, so any hypothetical Stroman trade with would leave the Yankees paying part of the tab.

  6. Also this is a common issue with Brian Cashman. He signs dudes to these free agent deals that completely handcuffs his ability to improve the team the next year. Happened with Donaldson and happened with Ells when we gave him that albatross of a contract and will happen with Rodon eventually. Dude is just not a good GM any longer.

  8. Highest revenue team in the sport, just made the WS, and. Cole and judge aging and getting to the later part of there contracts. Totally makes sense to cut payroll. Hal is a loser, I wish he would just sell the team.

    Dodgers are ready to spend 400+ mil to have a dynasty and we are trying to cut money despite the gaps we have. But i know ppl dont like to hear this, but i dont blame Hal. I blame his BFF who is constantly putting us in this situation with bad contracts

  14. This team is so aggravating. They’re willing to do *almost* enough every year but never go the extra mile. A World Series loss should be fuel to do exactly that and get over the hump—especially with the clock ticking on their most important player primes in Judge/Cole.

    Instead, the World Series winner was the one that went the extra mile(s) and got significantly better than they already were.

  18. I’m not sure why everyone is in such a wad over someone else’s Cash. Yankees have been accused over the years of buying pennants but it’s okay for the Dodgers to do so. Yankees have a budget Dodgers don’t. It’s not like the Yankees are broke with a $300mil payroll. Yankees made some great moves to make up for the void created by Soto’s departure. They bolstered the rotation, bullpen and Offensive production along with skilled defensive players. I’m okay with them trying to shed payroll for other signings. They lost the World Series and it wasn’t because the Dodgers were better. The Yankees made mental mistakes which cost them.
    Why do you think the Dodgers are spending the way they are? If it weren’t for that 5th inning who knows how it would have ended up with the Yankees gaining the momentum.
