I’m not surprised. At that time, everything was uncertain. No one had a plan for the team or the city. I’m happy I never heard CP3 say anything bad about New Orleans.

Always have held respect for him. My earliest NOLA basketball memories were those Chris Paul teams. The Crescent City Connection lobs would get me so hyped. I know his reputation has finished as the years have gone on, but he gave us some bright times and never spoke badly about us.

Pre-knee injuries he was on pace to maybe be the best point guard ever
Never held it against him that he was moved, the team was definitely on shaky ground and both fortunately and unfortunately the Benson family stepped up to keep the team in NOLA but I wish it was someone else who had more winning intentions even if they had moved the team
I’ll never have anything but love for those late 2000s Hornets teams. Always hoped CP3 could win a ring somewhere and come back home one day

I became a fan of the Pels because of CP3. I am not american, have zero connection to the city, but CP3 made me a fan for life.
CP3 in NOLA made me care about basketball. He could’ve been the Hornet’s Drew Brees if he stayed healthy and the team wasn’t a train wreck. Bums me out he left. No animosity though
CP3 will always be my favorite player of all time, and I can’t bring myself to hate him.
I boo him because he’s one of the dirtiest players in the NBA and broke Jose’s tooth with a purposeful elbow.
… but fine. I won’t boo him anymore.
