How do you feel about the Detroit Lions hiring John Morton? ⬇
I don't know much about him so will see
Honestly I'm just going to throw this out there my predictions…if I'm right, you heard it from me first…ok, first and foremost, Patrick Mahomes gets his 3-peat…no offense, Eagles fans but this entire season has been scripted I think although I can't prove it…yet…the Bears under Ben Johnson will try to give us fits but in the end we will humiliate them again… that offense will still be just a year away from being great… Lions v Chiefs in SB 60 next year…this will mark the start of the Chiefs downfall and the start of a Lions dynasty era…
So i wonder what was wrong with guy they were grooming?
His one year as OC is with the Jets when they were a dumpster fire. Josh McCown was quarterback. Josh had the best stats of his career. I looked a pro football reference and lets just say that I would be really shock if you had heard of any people at the skill positions. I trust Dan on this one. He also wouldnt be on Sean Paytons staff if he were trash.
Jeff, I had no idea he was the one that constructed this whole offense. Everywhere he's been, the QB and offense in general have skyrocketed from the year before. He knows Dan and his vision, and he knows the personnel. He and Dan will be excellent as a pair. Also with Hank Fraley keying up the run game is absolutey sick!! Also on the defensive side to pair with Shep is Kacy Rodgers. Everywhere he's been he's had a top 10 D-line in pressure and sacks. Uh oh, here we go. Listen to Justin Rogers sit down 2023 interview revisited with Kelvin Sheppard and also his notes on Kacy. I think we're good to go
More Air Coryell, less gimmicks
Jeff says he doesn't want two rookie coordinators and then turns around and asks why isn't Tanner the OC 😂😂 "is he not ready?" Like cmon I knew yall would contradict yourselves
I think the offense will be just fine, please get the defensive coordinator another pass rusher. I didn`t like how Brad said when healthy we felt our pass rush was good, it was far from good after Hutch went down, he`s a one man show. He needs help on the edge, I want QB`s to fear us, period, lets go Brad.
Not a fan at all.
I have been a Detriot LIONS fan for 45 years, many have been fans even longer! We have longingly awaited these past couple years that have brought realities unthinkable to many of us! These Lions have come so far and will only get stronger next season! Roaring onward! LOVE to LOVE these LIONS ❤
Or maybe, Tanner felt that he wasn’t ready yet and wanted to stay here and be groomed a bit more and hopefully got a pay raise.
I like the move. It will help to promote continuity. I think he will be as good or even better than Ben
I really want to see what this guy does. Some are saying he did good with other qb's especially Nix. You have to realize Nix is MOBILE with a stronger arm than Goff. Some of the other qb's he's coahed are better than Goff as well. This day and era pocket qb's are a thing of the past. If the Lions want to get that Super Bowl trophy Goff needs to do better.
This is a wait and see move here . Just like Kevin sheappard.
Great hire. Ben Johnson is a competitor in our division now as well as several offensive assistants. We had no choice but to go outside in my opinion. Ben and the Bears could have telegraphed every play we run next year
Where do y’all see hired lol
I think Kelvin will be fine as DC, especially with Kacy Rodgers behind the scenes, shaping things up nicely with the D-Line!
After getting a veteran OC with ties to Campbell/Lions, it makes you 2nd guess the DC hire.I would think your DC would be more of a veteran coach, seeing Campbell is more offensive.
Thank you for the news. Look guys I'm glad Ben's gone. It was in our way of reaching the Superbowl. Ground and pound 100%. We will be fine. It hurts losing but it really hurts bad when you self destruct in the big games. Can't happen anymore. Jared didnt have a chance against Washington. Our offensive line broke down too much
Hi morning, where is Burnell?
Wow a dude that builds the offense around its strengths? Good hire. Gibbs is gonna have 2000 yards soon
So we haven’t hired this guy yet it’s not official?
I think we're all reaching as far as this hire. I hate this choice and think it's the first really bad decision by MCDC. Not a fan of either coordinator hire. I think Shep will be a great DC in time, but not yet. Needed to go for experience. Not good….
Yeah good luck with that! He's so well-known and highly regarded that when the news came out they thought it was the receiver Johnny Morton😅
When I first heard the name, I thought for a second that is was the Lions WR from the early 2000s, but it turned out to be someone else. If Dan trusts him, then I'm fine with it. If you're really good at something, it's best to keep it as close to the same as possible, which is why I'm ultimately fine with Tanner and Scottie remaining in their current roles for now.
I can't even find info on this on the pride of detroit web page. Bro is quick
For an entire generation, Lions fans have been used to questioning crappy decisions & second guessing what the team hierarchy was trying to do. Then Dan & Brad took over and totally revolutionised everything. And i just trust their decision-making. They know best. They know these people. Kinda left us barstool experts with nowhere to go, but in a good way. Onwards & upwards. 🦁
Someone tell me it’s gonna be ok
Who??,
I think we’re at the point where we don’t have to do all these trick plays
Lions should have and were equipped to beat Washington with the players they'd had active…bad decisions and poor execution lost them that game. Lions were not ready to beat the Eagles at all.
I had a career high whack-offs per year when John Morton was the coach in Denver. Not an all time record, for whack offs, but a personal best. Go John Morton.
