  1. Very thoughtful words about the Astros' sign stealing, Ken. Your take, then, allows someone like Verlander a path to the HOF without stigma, and though he wasn't actively involved as a hitter, he benefitted from the advantage of more runs presumably being scored when he pitched. The one aspect of this that you didn't address during this podcast was the plethora of weak and tepid "apologies" by prominent Astros players after your article outed them. They tried–at least as I remember–to justify the cheating to varying degrees and to pass it off with the suggestion that "everyone did something like it." That, to me, deepened their complicity in the entire, sad affair. I was taught by my parents that when I did something wrong, I should admit it, accept responsibility, apologize sincerely and honestly, and accept whatever consequences ensue. From players to front office to ownership, I didn't see many people in the Astros organization doing that.

  2. I liked Beltran, but I just never felt like I was watching a future hall of famer. If he gets in, I’m not going to be bothered by it either.

I didn’t think McCann ever really had a chance in the first place on that note. Andruw Jones is just rhe Koufax of centerfield, & that should get him in with having 400+ HR & the defense. That’s literally what you want in a guy.

  3. Boras is really screwing around with the wrong owner. Cohen has already made Boras and his clients a lot of money in a short period of time. Boras needs to give in a little for the future of his business.

  4. I absolutly can say astros were never punished because they weren't. Altuve has still continued to make millions and keep his ring. All those players got no damage. People rightlyfully saying mean things to them is not a punishment.

  5. Joe Espada said they will keep Bregman at 3b. Paredes to 2nd. Altuve to LF but also 2nd. Paredes will play 2b, 3b to spell Bregman and also DH at times. Alvarez will DH and possibly play LF from time to time.

  6. Voting for any Astros player for the HOF and keeping Rose and Jackson out is malice and hypocrisy. MLB lost me when they took money from casino's and shows sponsored by sportsbooks. Hypocrisy! Let them all in, or throw out sportswriters who wrote and profited from steroid players…

  7. The whole “MLB imposed clear punishments for PED use on X date, so anyone who violated it AFTER X date is disqualified from the Hall” is malarkey Ken. The reality is, you cannot tell the story of baseball without legendary names like A-Rod, Manny Ramirez, Bonds. Let these guys in the hall and celebrate the era of MLB that kept the lights on for writers like you, for the league, for many many local markets!

  8. Dodgers defense is weak. Fat Munch at 3B, outfielders playing infield, infielders playing outfield, teoscar is weak in LF, and Kim is new to the league.
