Paul George says ‘it sucks’ Pacers don’t honor his achievements. Team plans to fix that.

  1. Don’t act like a snake, and you won’t get treated like a snake. He can be remembered when he retires, until then he can keep getting booed for all I care.

  2. compared to how stars have fucked over their teams since we traded him his situation was pretty tame in comparison. with that being said he wasnt impactful enough to deserve a jersey retirement, simply put.

  3. If they had tried to honor for the few years after the trade it would have been a trainwreck. Boos would have rained down and he knows it.

  4. He was talented but a lot of players have been. Lots of players have seen the pacers go to the playoffs. It sucks but Sorry PG had you not bailed on us and stayed here for the long haul and won while being a leader maybe you would be celebrated like it. So yeah, it does suck that you bailed on us and didn’t want to stay and try to win here and endear yourself to this fanbase and organization who you now want to heap praise on you and honor you.

  5. His achievements? 3 decent years and all that shit he talked on his way out.

    They better not.

  6. Does he want some ECF participant banners?

Maybe a big mural of the time he let lebron burn him on the inbounds play at the end of Game 1?

He had that in game 360 dunk. I guess we could do something with that

  7. Man idk why Pacers fans are so salty about PG. in 20 years of watching the Pacers the PG pacers were some of the best moments of fandom I’ve had. He might be the most talented two way player I’ve seen on our team. Yeah he wanted to move on and it wasn’t the cleanest break but tbh we needed to rebuild anyways and it’s worked out for us, I love our current team. I’ll always love the PG era and I’ll always remember PG as one of the best Pacers players I’ve ever seen.

  8. Pacers had a policy of no tribute videos for years for active players. I believe that changed after 21-22. PG probably hasn’t gotten one because of his tendency to do revisionist history about his time on the Pacers. Probably have been resistant to do anything because of that.

Doesn’t help that he left in an ugly way and has continually picked at that scab.

  9. PG was my favorite player for a very long time. I gotta apologize to myself for that one 🤦🏻‍♂️. I watched him all the way till he made WCFs with Clips, never stopped rooting for him. His teams were my favorites after pacers. But he’s always been a diva. And at the height of him being a diva he said the famous quote “It was a bad shot” 👉⌚️. 🤦🏻‍♂️

  10. I love Paul George still and think the fanbase is a little too salty over him still, but it’s been almost 8 years since he was traded. Would any team in the league be expected to do a tribute video for someone every time he comes for 8 years after? Feel like the ship has already sailed

  11. After the oladipo experience my anger towards him subsided quite a bit. That being said this dude just sounds like a bitter x that just can’t let it go. I feel like he brings it up at least once a year either in some random interview or on his podcast. Just move on already.

  12. If he wanted what Reggie has maybe don’t force your way out. Dude is such a cry baby.

  13. I hate how we as a fan base treat Paul George. Why are we saying “he achieved nothing”? As a franchise, we’ve only ever been to one final so getting to the ECF twice and being a one seed are some of the best achievements in our team’s history.  He was the best player on one of the best teams in our franchise’s history.

I didn’t like how he left either and some of his comments post-trade have been upsetting. I get that. But we have to remember that management never backed PG  in the post-David west/roy hibbert years (monta Ellis was our second when we could’ve had Anthony Davis).

  14. Been a big fan since different eras

    Reggie, Jermaine ONeal, Ron Artest

    Grainger, Hibbert, lance, West

    Paul George, West, Hill, Lance

    Oldadip, Sabonis, Turner, Bojan

    Turner, Pascal, Halliburton.

Seems like PG is realizing his best years was with the Pacers and that he probably will never get to conference finals again.

  15. PG has handled his time away from the Pacers poorly, but Larry Bird isn’t innocent himself in how some of the things played out in the years after ECF appearances. Even David West was a bit peeved with how Bird spoke about Hibbert in the press. Then there was the whole Vogel thing. Main thing is our front office under Bird wasn’t as collaborative with our star player at the time as we are now with Haliburton.

  16. Why ever honor former player until they retire? This just wasn’t a thing 10-15 years ago

  17. PG will get a little clip in the Legacy video they play at each home game and that’s about it. Don’t know why he’d expect anything more than that.

  18. You broke up with the Pacers, dude. Don’t be mad at them because the rest of your career was unfulfilling.

  19. He was the reason that I became a Pacers fan, so I’ll always appreciate him for that

On another note, I understand why it frustrates people when he says things like this, but I don’t know why we have to pretend like he never accomplished anything here. I mean, sure, we didn’t win a championship but we never have lol

  20. These guys have to at least win ONE conference championship to get some kind of tribute. He is just upset that he didn’t stay in Indy because he would have been an Indiana hero for life and possibly the best pacer ever if he stayed. Revisionist history because he didn’t win all those rings he thought he would, and now he isn’t really loved anywhere. Who knows what kind of teams they could have built around him all these years too. Great player, just made the wrong decision. The long term investment is having a city you can go to for the rest of your life.

  21. Fuck PG, the Hali-led roster has already taken us as deep into the playoffs as he did. Honestly I have loved watching him try and (more or less outside of good seasons in okc) fail after he left Indy. Fuck dude. Do not retire his shit

  22. If I was there, I’d boo the shit out of a tribute video for him. No question about his accomplishment while he was here but the way he departed left a bitter taste in fans’ mouths. Sorry you’re butthurt about no video but I’m still butthurt about how you peaced out. See ya never bye.
