Frazier is a major league second baseman who can play left or right field. He was a doubles machine when last he played here. Adam Crowley on The Fan is fearful that this signing indicates that Cherington isn't confident that Hayes will be able to overcome his back issue.
It may mean Hayes’ back is worse and will be out this year, so Frazier is a reserve infielder

Why did they get rid of Conor Joe from what they picked I’d rather see if he can beat last year’s numbers. They actually did nothing in right field to make them more competitive.

What in God's name is this organization doing, we need 2 or 3 real major league hitters to be relevant this year, still need a right fielder, 1st base problem is a patchwork deal 3rd base is a question mark and Cherrington has done nothing and the owner is in hiding this is just embarrassing and disgraceful imo.
Is another move gonna be made. IKF or Hayes in a trade if not this signing is such a head scratcher. With the state of the Steelers and Penguins the Pirates have a chance to be the talk of the town but with this owner and management team it is what it is and always be this as long as their in charge

As a utility man sure hes a good add. However it pushes other goes off the roster. Funny i keep waiting for a move to be made and every move gets worse and worse.
A typical Ben Cherington move, picking up the scraps of other teams that nobody wants. This is why he is the worst GM in MLB.
